Was looking for a new comedy and these are probably the two most acclaimed that I haven't seen yet. For reference, my go to comedies are The Office and Sunny.

I don't care much for Modern Family. Love 30 Rock, but I despise Sunny. So...

I've lost interest in MF recently but the first idk...4 or 5ish? seasons are pure gold. Really, really great stuff.

I've never seen 30 Rock.

So basically I cannot answer your question.

30 Rock is up and down but its best moments are hard to top.

30 Rock. Just finished the last episode of a rewatch.

The last season is a little uneven but solid show.

At their best both are/were outstanding sitcoms.

really depends on your type of humor

30 is really witty and smart. Lots of running gags and callbacks (if you liked Arrested Development you'll prob be a big 30 fan)

MF is just a very well done family comedy. Not hard to follow or get the jokes.

You can't go wrong with either.

30 rock. No question. The show never jumps the shark and it stays great from episode 1 through the finale.

Modern Family is a great sitcom for a couple seasons. Then it becomes an above average daytime background noise syndicated television show for a clue seasons. Then the writers and cast just hit auto pilot, the kids grow up, and the show is nonsense doctors office waiting room fodder.

Na. I love the show and just finished my 2nd rewatch in probably the last 6 months, but the final season has plenty of clunkers. Wasn't a fan of the finale.

Wrong. Still very funny. Still creative. Wednesday's episode was a perfect example.

I've moderately watched Modern Family. I've watched all of 30 Rock.

My take on 30 Rock is that it's very good. It has that randomness joke/gag-wise that Family Guy has. Some of it misses completely. But overall, it's a very funny show with some solid characters. I'm a Tina Fey fan, but Jack Donaghy rules this show.

Plus you get Salma Hayek for a couple of seasons and nothing beats the Beeper King.
