When does allowable contact start for head coaches off campus?

Not saying this is the case with DW, but. . . Any recruit who makes his college decision based on who's "on [him] the hardest," I don't really want.

Get on board or get left out. We have no time for this all too familiar game recruits have played the last few years. We have a staff that can basically get better recruits now, so it's on...
This. And I don't care about the instate kid/OOS kid, crap anymore. If an instate kid wants to leave, I don't care as long as we can decently replace said kid. We now have the recruiters to do it.

I could meet Saban every day for a year and still not wanna play for him.

Where do you think you'll be happiest at DW? All that matters really.....if it's Bama, then good luck & bye

Wow... Guess you missed the part where I said O already met with him and made a great impression. Sorry I don't have your self inflated vast depth and knowledge.

I am sure Devin White is just another 1 of many recruits that have been misled over the years and now. The longest talk to a recruit stuff is kind of, "Special".

Some one or Some people at Alabama sure made Wommack seem like he was going to do something big at Alabama. Kind of convenient that his move to switch schools just so happens to slap us with a recruiting sanction in a year where we are suppose to get a large number of recruits. I doubt a young guy still in High School didn't know that rule, but someone did.

Just goes to show you can be a year early on a guy, have a great need at that position, be the only in state school, and still lose out on a guy.

Also, goes to show these are kids and not much can be trusted or counted on in most cases. There are exceptions but many of these kids love the recruiting game and the chaos it brings.

Alabama is in a rare position, with how well they recruit, to focus on Jr's right before Signing Day for seniors. Their Jr Day is right before NSD, and Saban toured La right before Signing Day, but it was mostly to visit Juniors. Again, they have the resources that nobody else in CFB has to make it possible.

Quite possibly.

do most think that is what he is planning on doing?

I thought I read something a few months back hinting at this as well

For months now he's been talking to his classmates a lot more about AL than other schools. Personally, I wouldn't be the least bit surprised it Devin ends up at AL.

He was all but committed to LSU last season now we probably aren't in his top 2

I'd be interested to know your source or reference for that comment. I've NEVER heard Devin nor any of his teammates/classmates say this. I've personally asked Devin many times where he'd like to go and he's never said any particular school. OTOH, at the start of the '14 football season I quit asking him that question as I got the feeling he was saying whatever he thought people wanted to hear.

This is true. Saban visited the high school the week before NSD. I enjoy making fun of NS as much as the next LSU fan (especially since I have an older sister that lives in AL and is a Bama fan), but I think we sometimes forget what a celebrity NS is, especially amongst high school football players. When NS visited North Webster HS, he made an unannounced visit to the weight room while the guys were in there working out. I wasn't there but was told the guys reacted to him like he was a god. Despite the whining, griping and bitching we see when NS's giving an interview, he comes across to HS coaches as very personable, friendly and down to earth. He's a big part of the reason AL gets very highly ranked recruiting classes every year.

if he goes oos then so be it. we have great recruiters and we will find great talent. if he goes oos I prefer he goes to bama and not ole piss or aTm. LSU will get players and bama will get players. he doesn't help bama because they will find someone of his quality if he goes elsewhere. he helps ole piss and aTm because they can't find other guys equal to him at his position. I still hate bama though.
