Didn't read the thread but did anyone suggest having her clean while they're in school?

Mine brought her son over while she cleaned and I didn't mind until he got chocolate all over my white couch and she didn't tell me. It never came out and I had to get it recovered....too much of a risk in my opinion. She just turned on the tv while she cleaned and he played in my not child friendly house.

So, it's just you and a part time female. You pretentious frick! How big of a mess can 1 1/2 adults make to require a maid? Clean your own piece of shite row house and quit trying to ruin this poor woman's life!

I'm amazed at all the a-hole attacking this dude for hiring someone to clean once a week. WTF business is it of theirs?

Bunch of jealous little pricks.

Wonder how many of them hire lawn guys.

If you like her, why wouldn't you request that she not bring the kids anymore instead of jumping straight to firing her?

This is the correct answer. Always rub the dog's nose and say "No!" first before doing anything drastic.

She may not have any reasonable alternative to bringing the kids btw, day care probably costs a good bit more than the job pays her. But if that's the case maybe you can work something out if you like her otherwise.

Man I didn't read the thread yet, only the original post, but I have a feeling how the thread turned out and an even stronger feeling it isn't how you would have liked it to....

So I've only read the OP in this thread, but I will say that years ago I had a housekeeper who brought her two kids with her when she cleaned our house. I resented it at first, but not only was she the most efficient and best housekeeper ever (we called her Jean Jean the Cleaning Machine), but her children were perfectly behaved. She home schooled them and was just one of those parents who knew how to keep them in line. They were slightly older than 6 and 8.

Sounds a little excessive of she is good. Have you considered asking her not to bring them?

If she is good, I would probably let it slide. She might not be able to afford aftercare and a 6 and 8 year old are old enough to sit quietly and do homework/play on an iPod/DS/phone.

TL;DR you're over reacting.

No shite. I guarantee you when my wife goes back to work we will be getting our regular lady back. We'd prefer to spend our limited time having meaningful interactions with each other as opposed to cleaning.

Not getting a lawn guy though...that's my quiet peaceful time

Fire her.

She's better off not working for a dipshit.

Our maid asked my wife for a favor earlier in the week. The favor was if we could keep her child Thursday night while she went on a date. I'm dead serious.

I bit my tongue and know where this conundrum is headed. We kept the child last night for two hours. The maid showed back up with an odd story of what she did and showed signs of intoxication/ frickedup on something when she got back for the child. It was the weirdest shite I've seen in a while. I can't wait to see what the future holds with this.
