Why do people think Ginobili is a hall of famer? It does not look like he will get in and he shouldn't.

Also we are talking this season. Those are "future hall of famers" who are all old as dirt. He just said teams who play elite 5 player ball and that would include the Hawks. You would have to ignore the entire season so far to not think they are in the discussion.

When you combine Ginobili's international accomplishments with his NBA accomplishments, he will be a hall of famer without a question. It's not called the NBA hall of fame.

I've found out you'll never convince a Hawks fan that they aren't the 2014 Spurs reincarnated, so we'll see in the conference finals. The Cavs have been the best team in the league since Lebron came back from his two week recovery break or whatever the hell you wanna call it. This is a much, much different team than the one that got blown out by the Hawks earlier this season, but yeah, keep ignoring that.

He is. If he ever left the Spurs and wasn't just a 6th man he would have been a perennial all star.

Also, the Hawks are obviously having a great season but it's pretty premature to say they are the next Spurs. The spurs are the only team that has played the way they do for extended periods of time and continuously succeed. And yes. Playing the way they did with guys like Parker/Duncan/Ginobili is a huge advantage over what the Hawks have.

Not saying the Hawks couldn't become great like the Spurs but they are still kind of an unknown

It's not a horrible argument. You look at past NBA champs, most had at least 1 future HOFer.

In fact the only team of the past 30 years I can think of who didn't are the 2004 Pistons, and even then Chancey Billups is on the fringe of being one.

EDIT; You could make a case for Rip Hamilton as well.

At this point in time, the Cavs are the league's best team. They are so hot right now, and they still have the world's best basketball player, so it is hard as hell to bet against them. That being said, when the Splash Bros are splashing, they are damn near unbeatable

I'm not looking this up right now so my bad if I'm way off... Ginobili I think has made the all star game twice and has only been in the discussion as the best player on his team from 10-11 season and 11-12 season. I just don't think he's gonna cut it, but it is very possible he does. I just hate when people say they have a clear cut three hall of famers because that is certainly not the case.

I think the confusion so far is that I'm not saying the Hawks are the next spurs, because we aren't. We don't have a Tim Duncan on our team. I am just saying that we play an elite 5 player game and that is what someone said would be the Cavs' Achilles heel. They used the Spurs as an example for that and I'm saying that the Hawks have that style of play as well.

I think people underestimate how amazing the Spurs executed that offense during the Finals last year. The Hawks playing that style is nice, and it will get them a long way, but that was some of the best offense any NBA team has ever run. It is incredibly hard to execute at THAT level for an entire playoff series.

Oh it was something special I agree. I honestly hate comparing the Hawks and Spurs because they are completely different teams, but are the closest teams on their game style.

I really don't know what the Cavs achilles heel is to be honest.

It was a different story when LeBron was on the Heat. They had Bosh playing Center. That was their only deficiency. Against teams with 2 big men (Pacers, Grizz, etc..) they would have problems and would easily be out rebounded but could usually win anyways because they were superior in every other aspect of the game. The Cavs don't have that problem because they have Love and Mozgov who are big bodies who can score and rebound with the best of them.

The Spurs had Tim Duncan and Splitter who could play well together down low and then had Danny Green, Parker, Ginobilli just chilling ready to hit open 3's. They passed beautifully and always got the open shot. BUT when it wasn't falling they could still count on either Duncan, Parker, or Ginobilli (or in the finals.. Kawhi Leonard) to give them that elite production to win the game.

The Hawks aren't like that because they don't have anyone with the offensive power of Duncan\Ginobilli\or Parker who can single handedly win you a game when they are hot.

It was a pretty underwhelming squad prior to the trades they made.

"Why trade Dion Waiters? Dude's a baller of the bench!! They basically just got an older\worse version of him in JR Smith and an overrated defender in Shumpert!"

"Who's Mozgov? Dude sucks. Shouldn't even be a starter"

blahh blahh

JR Smith and Mozgov have been balling hardcore. Shumperts coming along post-injury as well
