This response assumes that some of what Zappa wrote isn't complete nonsense.

Shame on you for even partially legitimizing his tripe.

Which version? Just wondering if the same version I listed.

The version off Tusk. I don't think I've heard the one you listed. I'll have to check it out.

It's like saying Zappa was an 80s act. You're out of your element, dude.

1. Gold Dust Woman
2. Oh Well, Part 1
3. Go Your Own Way
4. Rhiannon
5. The Chain

Note : Everyone's musical taste is different and I respect that but, seriously, any list that doesn't contain Gold Dust Woman is totally bogus.

Honestly, Tusk is the only thing they ever did that impressed me.

They were very good a lightweight pop and most of it was enjoyable though really pretty insubstantial.

They were better than the vast majority of bands of the era. Fantastic - meh.

Discussing fluff pop bands?....You are right about that. But I think other posters are just looking at a date...1977...and saying well, they were obviously a 70s band. My argument is their sound....soft pop rock....segued right into the 80s. I heard FWM on the radio way more in the 80s than the 70's. I think of 70's bands as more blues based like like Peter Green FWM and Led Zep....but they could be called a 60s band since they released their first 2 LPs in the late 60's.... IMO Dates are not as important as sound when trying to pigeonhole what decade a band belongs in since many bands spanned the end of one decade and beginning of another. But my position still stands FWM was fluff ....like Hall & Oates.

Lol. They are nothing like Hall and Oates, other than they were both popular.

Oh, I comprehend what you're saying. I just that it's so wrong. If popular = fluff, then yes, they're both fluff.
