I thought sCam Newton was a flawed franchise QB Godsend to a Divisional rival, Mr. Winston would be even worse, in my opinion.

there have been 2 instances where the Panthers have come down to the Dome and beaten the shite out of us with him as their starting QB already.
that's unacceptable.
I don't like Winston either but the guy only lost one college game in 2 years. I don't know if I'm rooting for them to pick him.
I hope we get our shite together more.

I'd rather them take Winston than Mariota. Winston will be the better rookie, but once Mariota gets the verbiage of an NFL offense down, he will have the better overall career.

I just don't believe in Mariota. I have seen so many QBs look so good in Oregons system and get exposed when it comes time to pick apart a defense when read option isn't 90% of the reason why TD'S are scored.

maybe so. Winston has done some dumb arse things but I'm pretty sure people said the same thing about Cam Newton.
people wanted him to fail hardcore and that hasn't happened so far. The Panthers D is more of a factor.. sure. But he's done enough damage so far under the circumstances in my opinion.
Mariota seems like a good kid and someone you can root for but I don't buy him being a good pro. I have no basis to back that up either... just a gut feeling.

Honestly, they will both probably end up sucking. Heisman winners haven't had a lot of success recently.

As a Saints fan you better hope the Bucs don't take Winston. He's an extremely talented and smart QB. His off field issues, which in think are way overblown, are behind him IMO. Really seems like he's matured and realizes he needs to cut the knucklehead shite out to be successful. He's handled himself very well over these last few months too

I was very impressed with his football IQ in the Xs and Os session at the combine. I believe he has the aptitude to be special. Now work ethic and character is a different story.

thats very true, but the NFL is changing.
The Read option is a at least a thing now.
The Eagles would do well with Mariota, maybe a few other forward thinking teams too.
