I work less than 5 minutes from the big one in Youngsville. I'm in there just about every day whether it is for lunch or to get something to cook for supper. Their ribeye patties make for a great hamburger steak

I do not see this Juicy Lucy on the menu when I checked urban spoon. I think I'm gonna go by there tonight.

It's a Thursday special. I had it twice at lunch, so not sure on dinner.

This thread has been way more through than I expected. It's a damn good run down of Lafayette. The only food I can think of that hasn't been covered, is who had the best meat pies? Those natchitoches style meat pies are incredible

Posted by jdd48If you're willing to make a road trip to a tiny town about 30 minutes north, there's a place called The Little Big Cup in Arnaudville,LA. On Sundays they serve a breakfast boucherie buffet with food that tastes home cooked on it. Normal breakfast foods, pork stew, grits and griods, boudin, jambalaya, etc. All you can eat for $14. LINK

I'm not a huge fan of Crawfish boudin. Best I've had was Cormies in Lake Charles.

Shrimp melt from French press is incredible, too

I'm an AB Hendersons fan as well. It's got a hardhat ambience, outstanding sauce, and remarkable vegetables. You gotta get there early though. Brisket is extremely good.

Just looked at the menu. It looks ridiculous. I've gotta make a trip out - so many good new places it seems.

I stole an idea from French Press and make a dish at home similar to its. I call it Boudin Balls Benedict.
Fry up some boudin balls. Cut them in half and make a base out of the halves. Top with poached egg, hollandaise sauce, and green onions.
And yes, I sometimes add a side dish of Lipitor.

On meat pies, Michael Doumit used to do an outstanding job on those in his catering. He's at City Club now, I think. But as far as restaurants or gas stations, none leap to mind. I see that as more of a north Louisiana thing.
