A little about the place. I've been there several times, but only for festivals (Festival International and Black Pot) and have always had a blast. I've just never really been anywhere besides the Blue Moon or the Acadian Village campgrounds.

So yall know, I'm 32, single, and love live music, either listening or playing. I'm trying to figure which areas are good for someone my age. And a good spot to meet some for Cajun girls would be great too.

Stay out of Duson if you're looking for hot chicks, if you're looking for rough around the edges chicks that blows everybody around them on trailrides then go to Duson

Be sure to point out to everyone there that the real University of Louisiana is in Monroe.

The Station will be your go to spot for rock music. It's like a better Varsity. Major arena acts also play the Cajun Dome with regularity. You're going to want to work out at Red's. Great health club for meeting young hard bodies and cougars alike. Don't live in the suburbs like Broussard and Youngsville.

Fred's Lounge in Mamou on Saturday morning. Live french music and bar closes AT noon.

I lived there for several years just after college and found it to be a pretty fun place to live...they are a little clanish, so take it easy until you get worked into some social circles...

Are you looking to buy or rent?

ETA: as far as bars go, I'd go to either Taproom or Cornerbar. If you live in River Ranch you can walk to Taproom.

Man, that gives me a sad. Lafayette lost 93.7 to Jesus and the Station in the same year. That is really unfortunate

You should live nearby the ULL campus/downtown. Freetown or the saints streets area.

Corner Bar
Tap Room
Artmosphere for jam band shite
Blue Moon Saloon for other live music
Jefferson Street has a variety of bars that each have different, distinct crowds
And yeah, you've gotta see/experience Red's
