To be honest, other than Thompson, no LBs in this draft cover well
Posted on 3/16/15 at 10:57 am to WicKed WayZ
And thats what we have not had since Vilma or Fuji

Regarding
quote:I don't give a shite what the film says about him "being a football player." He ran a 4.9 or something at the combine and looked so slow and stiff in the lateral drills (he almost fell over himself) that solely based on that he shouldn't go higher than the beginning of the 4th round. I'd hate to see us draft that guy.
Dawson

Well I do give a shite what his film looks like, because it's really good. I believe his pro day will rectify him. You can't show instincts and football IQ during combine events. period.
Posted on 3/16/15 at 10:48 pm to PurpleDrank18
For his sake he better be a smart player that knows how to hide his deficiencies cause he's got a lot of them. Maybe he runs better at his pro day, but he wasn't athletic at all in the bag drills. The combine isn't to to show who's better than the rest, it's to show who's worse than the rest. It's to expose weaknesses in movement skills and change of direction and he looked weak.

Jeff Duncan had us trading up to 7 in his latest mock. Took a third, not too bad. Also, he had La'el being available at 31. Would be down with this!
7. Vic Beasley OLB (Clemson)
31. La'el Collins OT (LSU)
44. Quinten Rollins CB (Miami OH)
75. Henry Anderson DE (Stanford)
140. Lorenzo Doss CB (Tulane)
146. Nick Boyle TE (Delaware)
171. Xavier Williams DT (Northern Iowa)
205. Eric Lefeld OT (Cincinnati)

Why the frick would we take 2 corners and not a single ILB?
Posted on 3/17/15 at 12:29 pm to PurpleDrank18
He justified it as the Saints were happy with their LB group and don't put as much emphasis on the group as most clubs.

Well, that certainly is not true judging by the trade to get Vilma, and the signings of Lofton and Hawthorne.

Well this is absolute BS if we don't draft an ILB with one of our first 3 picks I'll be pretty upset. Unless a) we acquire a solid one pre-draft or b) there's some insane value picks that we just can't pass up at 31 and 44.

Would kill for those first three picks!

Now what good would that do? You would be in "Pound You In The arse Prison" so you wouldn't even be able to watch them play.

SI loves having us take Shane Ray at #13. Most of the players everyone on here wants are gone by our pick (Collins, Scherff, Cooper, White, Shelton, Beasley, etc) according to them.
They then have us taking Sammy Coates at #31.
I would not like either of these picks.
