I make more than the engineers that are my age at my work. I know because I pay them

Another chance for me to not speak for everyone, but my BIL started either at or just above $50k at a big 4. He had a lot of work experience while he was in school though.

Im assuming his friends arent all 1st years with a CPA..........................

Whenever I first started out, that's the pay they pretty much gave everyone, CPA or not. They obviously give you a bonus for passing the CPA and only can progress for having it.

They will work you into the ground for the first half of the year. I'm glad I didn't start in public accounting.

That too. I wouldn't mind doing consulting or fraud work.

In comfortable with my salary, its in line with the figures being thrown around here. But, when I was interviewing, it seemed only B4 was paying above 50k, and other jobs that were close you needed a damn good internship and top notch grades. That's why I think the average is lower 40s.

I make good money. Probably better than most of the people I graduated with.

No one is knocking on your salary bruh. Youll be straight. Id say the average is right around 50k though maybe a little shy at $48k.

I know I'll be good. I'm not going for the CPA though. I'd have to go back to school for that. I have other goals in mind. Ill make a good living doing what I do.

Title is misleading.

It's only ranked 8th "out of the 40 universities in the country with the most exam candidates" which is still good but isn't 8th nationally. A lot of larger schools aren't that good or at least aren't that selective.

Is that not a little high? I would have thought the average would be closer to $50K.

Hired a recent CPA exam passer and grad at $52K at a small firm a year ago. Non-passers would be offered closer to $43K with good grades. That's the market in South LA, but it will probably contract to flatten with the downturn in the oil economy.

Experienced CPA's (non-owner)are paid $75 to $125K/year, and I think I am on the upper end of the pay scale.

I am encouraged by the increasing pass rate at LSU and the State of LA.

That being the way things have been, but times are getting tighter right now.
