Good Morning guys!

The wife and I are headed to Houston next weekend for the Minute Maid Classic. I was hoping you guys could give me a few recommendations for places to grab a bite and drinks in the downtown area. Nothing fancy just a place with some good eats and a nice atmosphere. Thanks in advance!

They do gameday shuttles for the Stros games. Not sure about this game.

Don't want to hijack this thread, but Ryno, I had the beef rib at Killen's last weekend (had to do it after our last thread discussing it). It was pretty fantastic as you suggested. However, they had a special menu item that day that my wife ordered and I almost stole it from her. It was Akaushi burnt ends. The most unbelievable brisket flavor I've ever had. I don't think they have them all the time and luckily we got there before they sold out, but it was ridiculous good.

grab a burger at Hubcap Grill. it's probably the best in the city.

I also like Bombay Pizza as it's a pretty unique place.

neither are particularly expensive and I think both serve beer.

Well, my son had a basketball game right next door that ended at 10, so I went over about 10:15 and got a number (I was #42 even by that time). Came back at 11 and got in line at spot #42 and had my food by about 11:45 or so. Really not a bad system they have if you grab an early number. You can go and do other things if you need to and come back when they open.

I did a pretty good job on it. Shared some with the boys, but I picked a good bit at the burnt ends also. It's sacrilege to let anything go to waste there, even if you leave feeling sick!

Honeymoon Cafe

MKT Bar

Grab a drink and share some apps at Reef. (Midtown)

Sprinkbok

Oporto (Midtown)

You could grab lunch at the brewery on Friday if you wanted, they are doing fish on Fridays for lent. St. Arnold's

Someone suggested Hubcap or Bombay Pizza company, both good choices as well. If you wanted Tex Mex...El Tiempo or Ninfas is not too far away on Navigation.

If it were me, I'd go to Thien An for pho.
