these guys are either frustrated jv players or their kids are "travel" ball kids, they know nothing of what they speak, if they ran into one of these old players they're talking about they'd be shocked at how much they look like they could still get out on the field and kick some arse

NO shite. Our old BB coach had a few of us come out and play the current highschool team for charity. We didn't know what the hell to expect. These kids all travel ball and shite year round, train with pros, eat fricking tofart shakes and pretty sure roid. Few of us played ball in college. A few more some Minor league.

We...it played out like we thought. Greatest team in school history(us) WRECKED shite!!! Even with old arse dead bats and gloves. We destrotyed those facy boys. All those fricking camps for bat speed and I could still make that bitch sing. All from hitting tiny aluminum foil balls with gold club shafts we'd cut/broke the heads off of. That we teach you to hit middle of the damn ball.

Pardon while I unsheathe her 34 inche and 34 ounces of ball wrecking bitchiness. You want that shite? And my black Easton gloves.-I need to spit now-no dip[ or chew-just feel a "bout to apply aluminum alloy facerape on your weakass fastball. bring it!

yep, the greatest training camps we had were what we made up, all of this pick one sport and do it 24/7 is just BS, we all, for the most part played everything we could and enjoyed the hell out of it, lots of our guys played college ball and quite a few had a brief pro careers, I personally think skill is learned in the sandlot, away from the teams that have as many coaches as there are starting positions

Nastier than Nolan Ryan? Nolan Was old school
And he would have sat the Babe down just as easily. There's a difference sitting on 85 mph fastballs and loopy curves and trying to hit Nolan's moving, 100 mph flames. Babe's only chance would be to guess right on a fastball and close his eyes and swing.

enforce traveling, palming, and three seconds, and maybe take away the three point line and see if we could reintroduce some strategy/skill into the game

shite. Some them old guys brought it. No one as hard as Nolan, but you can't claim him in new school. His arse hit the bigs in 67...playing mantle, maris, berra, etc. His ERA wasn't zero. Baseball has the least difference in eras, well, other than golf.

Are we talking same ppl with modern sports training equipment and devices or take them and transport them in time to now exactly as they were. The former they would still be good the latter except for Ali would be terrible.

so watching LeBron take six steps up the lane body checking everyone out of his way to a layup is proof of the modern athlete's dominance?

It's known that pitchers back in Babe Ruths era were slower and did not have as much in the arsenal. Throw Nolan Ryan out bc he was not in that era and yes Nolan was a beast, but very silly to say pitchers in the 20's are even close to comparable.

It always feels like the current generation of athletes is the epitome of the sport then 20 years later the game is pushed to another level. I wonder if people will look back at guys like Roger Federer, Michael Phelps, Lionel Messi etc. And see them as average players in 50 years

and very silly to say that we would give a shite about LSU baseball if it weren't for the aluminum bats, I played baseball for LSU right before the Skip era, and it was rare to have more people in the stands than there were players

A 9.4 100 would make him BY FAR the fastest person ever, not to mention the first white person ever to break 10 seconds in the 100m. Didn't happen baw!

That's 100yrd. Probably a 10.3 100 meters or so. Pretty damn fast.

that's pretty easy to look up, and not only that, he returned a 100 yd. kickoff against the faggies in 10 seconds, pretty damn quick considering the zigging and zagging

ETA: think that was against Texas Tech
