This looks like it could be awesome. Would love to see NOLA get more local breweries. Anyone know anything about this?

Just what I read about it on Eater today. Sounds still pretty speculative.

I'm not super familiar with NOLA, but that seems like a bad area for a brewery.... Maybe one of the NOLA locals can correct me if I'm wrong

Once the greenway opens up, it will be an excellent location. The Broad corridor right there is going to see a huge boost when it opens.

ETA: The greenway should be getting close to opening. When I left in September, we had a planned substantial completion around late January, but I'm betting that it's still a few months away.

Yea the location will be very good. Right on the Greenway and across from Whole Foods. I am excited about other businesses, esp restaurants, opening up along the Greenway and transforming neighborhoods.

Last I heard was late spring. I believe Second Line Brewing's site is on the Mid-City end of the Greenway also.

Nice... I have no idea what this is, but it sounds like a good thing for the area. Like I said, my limited knowledge of that area made me think it was on the shady side, but it sounds like it's getting better.

I don't think so. The person you are talking about doesn't live near that area.

Many parts of the Greenway are definitely near the shadier side. The PROJECTION is that this will revitalize many areas and change the neighborhoods.

Many people are concerned that it will just give criminals a nicer path.

Pretty confident you will see substantial gentrification along the Greenway.

Crime is of course a problem that has to be addressed, but I love how the naysayers commenting on the NOLA.com article act like one should never invest in a neighborhood because of potential crime. If that were the standard that all employed, we wouldn't have the Warehouse District or Freret Street, and Tulane Ave would not be undergoing rapid development. Develop the Greenway, open up restaurants, theaters, breweries and other businesses along it, bring more people and money to those neighborhoods, watch property values rise, watch nearby schools get better, and perhaps even see some job creation that reduces the potential criminal population.

Those same people who bail on the neighborhood because of those concerns will be kicking themselves 5-10 years down the road
