4 great pitchers and great hitting...plus the team is really young. Torina is going to make Murphy her little bitch sooner rather than later

Was looking at their schedule. Looks like we don't play Alabama or Georgia but do have to travel to Florida, Tennessee and Kentucky. Looks like we may have the offense we've been lacking this year and more than 1 arm to rely on. Great start for them.

Too bad they're not on the schedule this year.

Then again that could be a good thing.

I wish we had ULL and Bama on the reg season schedule this year. I'm confident our hitters could do some damage and we've a deep pitching staff this year. Why don't we schedule ULL in softball? Seems like we only meet them post season (if ever?).

In the late 90's/early 00's, ULL's baseball team acted like a bunch of dickheads at a regional in BR, trying to start fights with everyone they could find. Then, in 2002, softball had to play a regional at ULL and their fans again acted like dickheads, this time toward Yvette Girourard, who was in her second year at LSU at the time. They were very verbally abusive and nasty in general because they were still arse-hurt that she left that shithole for a better job at LSU. When Skip Bertman became AD, he basically told all of his coaches not to play ULL in any sport. That held up for a while then when Mainieri got here, he scheduled ULL, not knowing that he wasn't supposed to…so we have gotten to play them a few times. As far as I know, no other sport plays ULL. I don't think Torina has any plans on scheduling them any time soon.

Wow, how embarrassing for them. I do recall them being very nasty to Yvette after she came here. Ah well, frick em!

Oh, and don't forget the football rent a wins.

Is this how NCAA scheduling works?

Good, knowing that's how their baseball and softball teams/fans acted, our players shouldn't have to put up with their BS --keep the Laffy trash west of the basin.

On a side note, I like Coach Torina. She seems to be a good fit. I know her experience is pitching, and I think we've definitely seen it pay dividends the last few years. Can't wait to see her continue to build this program.

For OOC match-ups I think it's up to coaches and ADs. I could be wrong on that though. I could definitely see an AD giving directives to his coaches that a certain OOC school is not to be scheduled without his approval. Obviously we couldn't do that with conference schools.

smh.

cmon man you gotta be better than that. that's impressive despite the competition which hasnt been good. I'd be more impressed with a series win at bama with both wins coming by 1 run though than the 121-7.

We've played better competition, but 121-7 is impressive. But they did get to play Mississippi Valley twice and won something like 17-0 and 20-0.

We are both really good teams, and hopefully they won't pair us against each other in supers and give both teams a shot to reach OKS.

Wow. Who to root for here ??? Well at least one of them will lose a game or two (or all three). This helps us a little; though I guess it would be better if the oolalas won at least 2.
