I'm not saying it's aliens, but....
In all reality, one of those could be an example of Karst topography acting on a massive scale. Karst is often seen in places like Florida, where land is built over limestone bedrock with a high water table. The water eats abscesses into the rock as the water table drops due to uplift or overdraft of the aquifer. As the water drops, the caves are left behind and ground often naturally collapses into these caves which can no longer support the earth above them, forming sink-holes.

It's not aliens... but in that second pic the sides look suspiciously smooth and clean. Wait, it was those drilling robots off of the Matrix...

I was thinking predator.
I think there is lava or some fire source in one of these holes. It's called the door to hell I believe.

While all of this is true, no sinkholes look like the 2 pics in the OP. Those 2 holes look "manmade"......or alien-made.

Russia did control their media till the 90's. And a lot of old top secret stuff from back in the cold war days are being discovered now. Like Almaz, was a top secret military space station that had anti-aircraft guns and missiles. Only a matter of time before they let the "truth" out.
