That song is great. I think Eddie & Alex's dad did the clarinet solo. I love that song.

Yes. Near the beginning when he plays the main riff for the first time just by himself...he hits a little G chord that is just 3 open strings. But he hits them with menace. That single moment is what rock n roll is all about. Goosebumps just thinking about it.

1984 I hate. I hate Jump as it was totally overplayed and I hate the keyboards.

MTV ruined Panama as well.

No way! Diver Down is clearly the weakest of the DLR canon

I couldn't disagree more. I love it from beginning to end.

I has weak songs like I'm The One and Feel Your Love Tonight, and II has major bullshite in the form of Somebody Get Me A Doctor. Even 1984 has the horrible Jump weighing it down. Diver Down really has no weak spots.

VH I and II are interchangeable for me
Women and Children First
Fair Warning
1984
A Different Kind of Truth
Diver Down

I was pretty burned out on 1984 because it was overplayed so much on radio/MTV, but I really appreciated it after revisiting it many years later.

I also liked the recent release with DLR, even though it was kind of re-hashing old material... it fits nicely with all the old stuff.

I didn't include latest work with DLR as it comes 30 years after the others. I really didn't expect much but was pleasantly surprised by the new release. They can still rock.

I know the Van Halen purists won't agree, but it has some great songs.
