The Mullen part is on the money. The Smith part, I'll believe it if its still being said later. Don't think he's the lock to FSU many have tried to say but its not gonna be easy. Look at their recent track record with DBs. Its pretty impressive. Williams and Darby are both top 3 round material. Williams likely 1st or early 2nd.

The poster thinking the sun has set on FSU, please explain your reasoning? Not saying you are wrong in your opinion but do completely disagree with it. Here's why

They recruit at a top 5 level and its only getting stronger since they run the state of FL with UF and Miami down. Talent still rules
They are building the roster like us, Bama and USC especially on the lines and DBs which is really the difference between elite and non elite programs. They are loaded on the DL with prototype SEC, NFL type bodies and athletes and still grabbing studs left and right. At DB they recruit the same types of kids we do and are and have as much ammo as anybody when talking NFL production at those spots the past few years.
Jimbo will have good QB play. That's the biggest thing that separates the elite programs. Good QB play with the gluttony of talent everywhere else means your team is gonna be tough to beat.
#1 reason they aren't going anywhere, they play in the ACC. They have no competition for that playoff spot aside from Clemson and 4 out 5 years they will be better than Clemson. Sure they will lose a game they shouldn't some years and not make the playoff but they will be in the discussion more years than not.

Jimbo has rebuilt the powerhouse in the vein of Bowden and Saban. Took me a few years to buy into Jimbo, and still have some reservations about it, but the guy is good and deserves the recognition he gets. If we could get him as Miles successor I'd jump for joy. They aren't going anywhere as long as he's there and they stay clear of the NCAA
