Anyone been to this place since it opened in 2013? How are their beers? I saw some threads from back in 2013 but they were locked.

I went there on Saturday but since I gave up drinking for Lent, I didn't get to partake in their beer. Their sloppy joe (bbq briskett) sandwich was good though.

I thought about getting a growler (they now offer them as of last week) of their seasonal Belgian Blonge (my favorite style) but wasn't sure it would last past Lent.

I haven't been in a while. The food is good, but I'm a beer snob and don't do draft beers, much less ones that are foreign to my taste buds.

My office is just down the street from there and I probably haven't been in a year.

Their Cow Catcher Milk Stout is one of the best beers made in Louisiana. Thought all of their beers were quite good.

WTF indeed...Beer snobs don't like draft beers? Surely you mistyped this.

I went a few weeks ago. I got the Pimento cheese and bread app. Pimento cheese was the tits. I loved it. I had a flight of their beers, and had a pint of the milk stout. For an entree I got the reuben sandwich, and it was fantastic.

Good food, good beer, fair prices. If I lived in Mandeville I'd be a regular. It'd make a great date spot, also.

This pretty much sums it up.

Milk Stout was the only beer I thought was good the one time I went. The food was good. Only problem I had was it had a chuckee cheese atmosphere and not a brewpub feel. There were about 75 people in there on my visit and only two people were even drinking beer. More of a Mandeville restaurant IMO. I do believe they are doing growler fills now.

Surely I'm not the only one who gets his joke?

It can be difficult here sometimes.

There were no kids at all when I went, and plenty of beers going around. It does feel like more of a restaurant than a bar, though. I think it's because the bar is elevated from the food tables and just feels sectioned off.

And yes, they are doing growler fills.

Clicked on this thread to post this. It's a great space and they produce some pretty quality beers, I like the milk stout, IPA and their pumpkin beer was superb. But you're right, it's more like a fricking Chili's than a Brewing Co. I've been there 6 or 7 times and each time there are more people there drinking Diet Coke or iced tea than are drinking beer. And without fail they have their kids off the leash running around the restaurant. Pretty obnoxious.

My only problem was that the place was REALLY loud. They need to get some materials in there to absorb sound.

I'm lost too! It's like saying "I'm a food snob, but don't enjoy fresh food."

I enjoyed their beers better than the food. Not saying the food was bad. I just just kept drinking their different beers.

If you mean you were sure if the beer would keep well for that long, it probably will not be in prime condition. Most growlers don't seal tightly enough to store beer that long and retain carbonation. If you have one with a grolsh (sp?) type cap, it might do ok, but you'd want to fill it as full as possible.

The milk stout is excellent. The DIPA was very nice. Their gose...

The space is actually attractive, but the overall atmosphere is dick due to what others have stated. Just too much insanity. Too long of a drive for me to go back for that. That's not really a knock on the place, I'd go if I were local, just at off-peak hours.
