A Mississippi lawmaker has been accused of racism after accusing all of the black people in his town of being on welfare benefits and food stamps.
State Representative Gene Alday sparked outrage after making the comments in an interview with local media.

Well are they all on welfare?

I know right. I highly doubt it's true, but I'm hoping to get an actual answer when I read the link.

He later turned to healthcare provision in his hometown in Desoto County by recalling a trip to the emergency room, saying: 'I like died.
'I laid in there for hours because they (black people) were in there being treated for gunshots.'

Can we get some stats to back him up or nah? If he's right than shits about to get real!

He's an idiot for saying it.

It's not in the link, of course.
Id like to see it too.

Well if that's actually possible, Mississippi would be the place.
Guy seems like a real piece of work, though.

The media will hang you any chance they get, and this guy just brought them the rope with it already being tied to his neck.

went from all to most.
He added: 'Yes, it's true that most of the blacks in my hometown are on welfare. But they're good people.

Walls, Mississippi has a population of approximately 1200 people. 60% of that town is African-American.
Walls is a Delta town, which is historically the poorest area of the United States. I'd be shocked if less than 50% of the population of Walls, white or black, wasn't receiving some sort of state or federal aid.

As opposed to only 75% of the white people?

Love the way he tied his tie and tucked it neatly beneath his collar.

A quick google search of him shows he is from Tunica County MS which as of 2013 had 43.5% of households accepting welfare. He's not far off.

Do people just forget about the white people that are on welfare? Or are black people an easy target?
