Apparently, its a sum bitch to get someone out to do it here in baton rouge and it cost around $500
dont feel bad..things are tough all over. i'm *STILL* trying to get someone out to my house to do the same thing.
i love the stove..i wish i had it running so i could give you an overview based on actually using it..but that gas line tho.

apparently the correct answer here was "rayville sonic chili cheese dog"

on problem..one might say this thread is already 'jacked'.
i do like your kitchen! probably cleaner to keep these in separate threads.
i too wrestled with the 30 v 36" range question.

Me too, but the 30" BlueStar could still accomodate a full size sheet pan in the oven. So I had no need to upsize to 36".

that Hallman/NXR unit i went with cost me a little more so i skimped on the nice BROAN and went with a no-name 36" hood on Amazon that had great reviews.
i hated having to strike the broan from my budget

I always give my friends the best food recs that I can, but pickin's are slim between Delta and Swartz at midnight45, "baw".

UPDATE: finished backsplash, installed venting through roof, removed soffit/furrdown and painted. way more work than i ever imagined but its coming along. its not easy trying to do it all..there's a learning curve with every single project that slows you down.
haven't peeled the white covering off the hood yet but i'm not completely happy with the way the backsplash just stops on the left side (even though i made it even with the countertop edge)
what are your thoughts? Its not a huge space so i didnt run the backsplash to the ceiling.
also removing the soffit looks WAY better..sorry for the one shitty pic..it was late and i was dog-arse tired.

I'd run the backsplash to the door frame and down to the base board.

thats kinda what i'm thinking too.
this is the price you pay when you don't have a pro onsite to tell you that you're doing it wrong.

I think it's correct as is, that's how I would have done it. I think it looks way better than if it were going to the door frame. It's a perfect detail that looks good. Don't frick with it.

CAD,
Been trying to get on Austex's site and it hasn't been working. I assume they are not closing or anything and just having site problems?
I'm leaning towards getting that range, but want to make sure they will be around a while!
Oh, and the remodel looks sweet.

No the owner has been abroad from what I understand.
Call and talk to Morgan. You can tell her you were referred by the guy who she's been talking to about the stove propane converter in TN.
Website is behind. They actually have even newer hallman models that just came out at the same price point and she can talk about them.
As I understand the changes are very minor on the 30" version.

You do nice work, CAD. I'd leave it as is. It doesn't look strange to me at all.

I think it looks fine. I probably wouldn't have gone all the way to the door frame, but I would have been tempted to go all the way to the ceiling for dramatic effect.
Have you considered painting the cabinets? Natural oak pretty much screams 1989 to me. You could have them professionally sanded/painted for a fraction of the cost of new doors/overlay. Color can do a tremendous job of updating a passe look.

Was planning on it but now the wood color is starting to grow on me. We were thinking white but that might be too sterile.

CAD, you ever get that stove running? Was trying to get some feed back... looking to make a purchase in another couple weeks or so.
