Will all planes in the US Air Force be drones eventually?

With advancements in technology will there be any reason to have actual pilots in the planes?
Would we even need pilots in commercial planes?

Based on the amount of time it is taking me to learn to fly my drone... I'm saying we still got a while.

They will be upgraded with Cyberdyne computers, becoming fully unmanned. After that, they will fly with a perfect operational record.

I don't think it will ever get to that point. But if I was 17 or 18 years old. I'd take a look into being a UAV pilot. Especially with the salary you can make in that field.

starting salaries for drone pilots range from $50,000 to $120,000 per year, said Tom Kenville, who founded a trade group called Unmanned Applications Institute International. Analysts who process images captured by the vehicles can earn $100,000 per year starting out.
... one of his fellow students at the Traverse City, Mich., school recently landed a job operating unmanned aerial vehicles for a private military contractor overseas. “He got like $200,000 per year,” Bailey said. “And he didn’t even finish his associate’s degree.”

I'm sure the passengers of Flight 1549 would disagree. I don't think ditching a broken airliner in the Hudson is something a computer can learn.

"eventually" there will be no Air Force.

There would still be a pilot in the OPs scenario, just not inside the plane

No. Go study what a UAV does when it goes "lost link" and then get back to me with your opinion if you want a nuclear loaded aircraft to operate in that fashion.

My point was more about how young pilots these days are so ingrained with computer-based flight instruments that they have no idea how to respond to crisis. See Air France 447 and Airasia 8501

And then
"Hasta la vista, baby!"
