One its cheaper for the 13" 128gb $999 model. Two it's a full on laptop versus a tablet. Three it's running OSX not shitty windows 8.

It has a better keyboard. Runs OS X.

But, if you can stomach Windows, the SP3 is much better because of the screen resolution alone.

This thread will be a shite show.

Just choose the OS you're most comfortable with.

I will give you one reason:

"TRACKPAD"

Windows Trackpads:
MacBook Trackpads: Magic, smooth a butter, reliable, repeatable, whatever else you want to use describe it...

The Trackpad on the Surface Pro 3 is even worse than regular Windows latpops because of its small size and plastic construction. I hope they really fix the trackpad on the Surface Pro 4 to the point where you can use it without an external mouse 100% of the time, much like you can a MacBook today.

and the rumor for the new MBA trackpad is that it will be smaller and not clickable. :(

Hmmm...depends on how you look at the SP3. Is it a tablet or a laptop?

The 13" MacBook Pro retina model has a display with 227 ppi.

The iPad Air 2 has a PPI of 264.

The SP3 has a PPI of 216, which I feel is a little on the lower side for a tablet, but acceptable for a laptop.

Again, I hope the SP4 manages to pack a higher resolution screen in there.

If you only knew how ridiculous this sounds to Mac users.

Yeah, frick that noise. I will be needing a new computer for personal use in the next year or so. I still have a 2010 2nd generation MacBook Air that is running fine, but will probably need replacement in the near future. I am looking at both the 12" retina MBA and the Surface Pro 4 for my next laptop. But looks like the 12" MBA will be gimped in many ways (low power processor to help with fanless design, this non-clickable trackpad etc.)...not to mention it is a first generation product which obviously Apple will improve on substantially in the next few models. However I am not sure I can wait 2 more years for an upgrade. So I am hoping the SP4 with the Broadwell processors turn out really well and fixes some of the issues with the SP3.

yeah, the macbook air ppi is a paltry 128. really just terrible in 2015. You should look at the skylake macbook pros when they come out at the end of the year.

If you care about security and privacy, Lenovo is not something you would be considering right now.
