I love how fans choose sides in the console wars
Why does anyone give a shite?
You are not asking the right person.
I refuse to believe people care as much as they do here. I think most of it is trolling.
Except for UH, he is legit crazy.

Apparently everyone hates the black bars. It's fine in cinematic but in actions it gets in the way
The game is already being played in widescreen HD. Why limit the player's field of view? I understand it's probably a stylistic choice to give the game the feel of a movie but stylistic choices should rarely (if ever) hamper gameplay. I saw several reviewers mention it obstructed what they were attempting to aim at many times.
Now maybe it was a technical decision? Maybe they couldn't get the game rendering at a satisfying frame rate without the black bars?

People have wondered this. It's very possible. They were on the forefront of this 'cinematic' trend when their specs don't measure.
the game is great looking, but it falls into a different category, "movies with slight game animation".
It's basically a really nice looking movie, with cut scenes to press buttons.
If you like that, then you will love this, if you do not like to mash buttons every other 5 minutes of a movie, then you won't like. BUt you will admit, that it looks really good.

Hmmm opinion on an exclusive game that differs from nearly every review I've read and 90% of the comments I've seen on reddit.
Reddit and reviews...go to gamefaqs 1886 board and read the influx of people who played it....most everyone likes it.
Its a good game..nothing special..except the visuals..
Im well aware MOST reviews tear it down but there are also a few good reviews out there.
Im enjoying the game...and i thought i was burned after the YouTube play through leak.
Critics don't always get everything right it's all I'm saying..

I don't think people actually read the reviews, just the scores. Ign for example gave it a 6.5? Or close to it. 6.5 on their scale is 'ok'. It is understandable somebody would like an OK game.

$40 and I think the reviews would have been great. I just think a lot of people feel like $60 is too much for what you're getting.
yeah, for $60, people want more involvement in the game. Not cut scene action as part of a movie.
But as far as new consoles, it's definitely a great looking game.

Sure, there are negative ones even here, but there is an overwhelming sense of good reviews and "maybe critics were a bit harsh" vibe to all those..
My guess is that when the youtuber leaked the playthrough and length, and RaD tried to crawfish and deny the claims, it pissed some of those reviewers off and they were a bit more harsh on it than they would have been.

Yeah, Steve was talking about a new game coming out this weekend that wasn't getting good reviews, the bad thing is they never named it but I knew exactly what they were talking about.

Archaeologist are falsifying the bones. Fact.
Also, for $60 people would like to have more than 1 play through. Once you go through the game, it's done, no reason to ever play it again.
Would of been nice if there was more than 1 path, other options in game, other ways for ending. Instead, it's follow game, press buttons, follow game, push buttons, over.
