Can we talk fight tactics and mechanics for a minute?
I'm basically a button-masher, I guess. I generally just block until I see an opening (opponent goes into heavy hit stance, or I block a skill), then I do what seems to be a standard 5-hit combo. Occasionally I will throw in a heavy hit as the 5th hit and it usually lands. With some champs I always use the first skill once it's charged (Gamora especially since she has the assassinate special now), and others I wait till the second skill is charged (Ironman because his first skill seems slow to execute and often gets blocked). I rarely charge the third unblockable skill because most fights don't last long enough for me yet to make it worth it.
So is there a better way? Anybody know any tricks? I usually don't have a problem beating champs whose rating is about 50% higher than mine. As in, I can usually beat a 750 with my 500 and still have 25-50% health left.
And has anybody found any favorable matchups, besides the obvious class-vs-class boosts? Do you find that different champs have different mechanics, or are they pretty much all the same? I could be wrong, but it sure seems like my Gamora is a lot faster than my Rhino.

I work on fast counters...so light, light... dash back, med, med, dash back, block, light, light...etc. I never stop moving. They get frustrated and one of three things happens, either they'll block so I just heavy att them, I'll notice them start to run, not dash...and I can heavy attack/special, or they try to match my rhythm and give up on blocking. Seems to work.
Pretty big fan of Gamora right now, and Cyclops.

Add me, NeauxHomeaux.
in 1v1 I'm undefeated. Trying to get up to ya'lls level though.

I slide in with a medium>light>light>light>medium>slide out. They'll usually hit when you slide out so I slide back in depending on the champ and repeat.
When you start fighting at a hard level you lees to know what the opponents specials are and watch their power levels.
Ex. Vision, black bolt, iron man and cap marvel shoot an angled attack @ you and you backing away won't miss it. Block there.
All the bigs have close range specials so you can back out of it. At a high level it still hurts even when you block. These dudes have over a thousand points more than you and will take you doen easily.
Eventually you'll get to a point where their #3 special will kill you (or almost kill you) in one hit. To avoid this try to bait and dodge their specials so they keep using them before they reach a max special that you can't block. I do this typically by dodging and when they put up a block, go in and hit it and back away. They'll use their special and you can attack some more.
Characters with bleed and stun are best, imo. Don't give a shite about armor boosts or fury or anything like that. When you're fighting high rank people that doesn't do shite.
Deadpool and wolverine have both bleed and regen which is clutch.

my only heroes have been one stars so far, but I rolled a free gem for a three star winter soldier last night. game changer
Posted on 2/28/15 at 12:03 pm to hawgfaninc
Forget the one stars and never look at them again. Put all your ISO into the 3* until you get more bc that's a tier you'll use the rest of the game.
Posted on 2/28/15 at 10:30 pm to RBWilliams8
Question- if you upgrade someone to 10+, do they get another star? I don't want to waste upgrades.

No, they don't get another star. A 2* will always be a 2*.

So what does "rank up" mean? It says I need some sort of ISO something or other to rank up now that I've got a character to level 10.
ETA never mind I gfigured it out

No. Once they're maxed that's it. Only duplicates will make them higher.
If you have 3*'s Max them.

Does someone want to start a GeauxSoLa feeder? We are full but sometimes people come and go. Bigger alliances are already doing feeders this early.
