Not terrible but toward the bottom of the pack. Miami's Ereck Flowers put up 37 for the best so far.

It's enough to where it shouldn't hurt him.

Flowers has 34 1/2 inch arms compared to Collins with 33 1/4. Flowers may have a thicker chest though. It all depends on how far you have to move the bar to lock the elbows.

Collins actually has very short arms for a OT

Bench means very little in football.

What can he powerclean?
What can he squat?
What is his vertical or 20 yd start split?

Give me an explosive/athletic OT over someone with pure strength any day.

I don't know whether La'el is that athletic OT but him throwing up 21 reps means very little.

I bet some of the people he pancaked this year (and there were lots) could put up more than 21 reps. So much more to OL play than BP reps.

It's the time of the year where we get to bash Moffitt, right?

Give me a quick first step at left Tackle and that makes up for a # of rep on the bench

The combine bench test is so widely considered BS now, because it is.

For an OT, they are really going to rely on tape.

The combine is mostly for footwork and just in case he happens to dominate a drill (like Trai did the 40).

To me it says if this man gets stronger than how good will he be?

Arm length is a bigger factor to his stock than 21 reps. He may end up at guard.

Bench press is nothing more than a dick-measuring contest. There have been players threw up 40-50 reps and still suck.

Even a long-snapper from Navy threw up 30 reps. Bench press is just for show.

Only lineman with really short arms need to have elite strength. It helps to have both though

Yep. If they cared about measuring actual strength, they'd develop a squat or even a clean test.

But those aren't logistically favorable like the bench press. And it could potentially impact running drills.
