So it's definitely going down, huh? I figured that the State would step in with some recently found money to keep them open for at least another couple of months. I guess that's definitely not happening now.

Is this where I cheer that people are losing their jobs?

This sucks. That big of a city with three Emergency Rooms. Two within a couple miles of each other.

Should have closed one at Bluebonnet.

Mid city needs an emergency room

They already did that once, but there is no such thing as a plan that will make that ER viable with their current contracts and the patient population that now uses the facility.

It's not possible. Most hospital ER's are in the red, but they get downstream revenue from the referrals that the ER generates. But with such an influx of uninsured to that facility, it's just non sustainable.

Agree with this. Assume the Mid City loses money or else they would find a way to keep it open.

Don't know how many but it's at both Bluebonnet and MidCity. ER at BB, Lane, Oschner and OLOL are gonna be rockin. Still won't see a dime in reimbursements from the state!

No such thing as uninsured anymore. That was solved last year remember.

OLOL ER has a 100% of medicaid fee schedule for non-resource/uninsured patients.

I don't know about the others though.

The only company that can sustain a $25-30 million hit each year and survive is the federal gubmint.

I have no clue how all of that works, but is that due to it being the new Earl K Long?
