Without asking for them to be ranked, which ones are worth having and which ones can be avoided?

I have the Central Park one only and want to recommend a couple to a friend.

Not sure why but that album is incredible.

By far my favorite live album of theirs, and they have some great ones.

I think Central Park is one of my favorite officially released live albums from any band, in large part because I think the mixture of band and audience is recorded well. Listening to some live albums, I can tell the fans are interacting in some way -- like say when the singer stops his vocals for the audience singing to fill it in -- but I can't really hear what's happening.

That being said, Central Park doesn't have the mixture of my favorite DMB songs. Listener Supported is great. The Gorge and second Red Rocks are big collections if you get the complete sets. The Live Trax volumes are generally good releases, and I'd suggest looking on those track listings to see which one has the songs you thing your friend might like most.

I also say Listener Supported, and Red Rocks, and I think Live in Chicago is a very under-appreciated live album. The winter 98 your was just incredible

Live at Ziggy's, 1994. The first live, official release. If you can actually find a copy.

ETA: Oh hell yeah. Just heard back from my good friend from college who still has his copy and is burning it for me

They do a cover of "Make Me an Angel" with Boyd as the lead and Dave as backup, absolutely awesome.

I truly believe what I'm saying here:

This board has fricking been 100% certified a piece of shite since the beginning of January. Truly

It's become a haven for the mainstream, average man music brain.

Way to go, everybody

Agreed, LST. That 98 winter tour was prime time.

As far as D&T shows, I think 3.14.99 is my favorite.

LST, I got the title wrong, but then again it's been 18 years since I've actually heard it or saw that CD. The only time I remember hearing it after that was when Meg Ryan was singing it in some military movie with Denzel.

If I remember correctly, it was purchased by my roommate through the fan club. I could be wrong. It had a yellow CD cover though. But I remember specifically several CD's at Best Buy in Greenville, SC around 1995 having multiple DMB live albums when I purchased Under the Table. It's been 20 years dude and thousands of gallons of booze later

ETA: Which reminds me to go digging for a boot tape I got from Richmond in 91/92.

I hear ya

I think that back then there were a lot of bootleg live recordings being sold. Back then you could record from the soundboard and get some really good quality recordings.

Video should be up now since I had to rotate it. It's "Recently".

Holy crap btw. I can't believe I found it so quick Pretty cool hearing all the folks in the background in such a small setting like the fraternity house.

It must suck to be forced to open tigerdroppings, select the music board, see a topic you have no interest in, and still feel compelled to make a douchebag comment

Congrats on your miserable fricking existence

Is this a real thread? Or do we really have that many 17 years olds in 1998 around here?
