Stanley's is so legit

It's a must every time I stop in Tyler.

I feel bad for those people that stop off I-20 and believe that Bodacious or Soulman BBQ are worth a shite.

Central BBQ in Memphis. Mostly because I can get a 1/4 rack with my sandwich.

dang, those look righteous.

Pecan Lodge = best brisket I've had, and I've been to all the places listed in the OP. That's right I said it, a Dallas place > central TX brisket.

Sausage, or "hots" are definitely superior in central TX (Luling CM does the best).

Did you go to the original location? Or to Deep Ellum location? Or both?

If for the new location, how is the line for lunch time? Or dinner?

Sadly, I have never experienced Texas BBQ. I've only been to Houston a few times and that's the extent of my Texas travels. However I'll soon be making a from BR to Jerry's World -- are there any can't miss places along this route or in or around Dallas?

I never went to the farmer's market location, just the new one in Deep Ellum. Could be wrong, but I thought he moved altogether.. no longer at the market.

My advice for trying it the first time is a random weekday and get there before 11. You'll wait a bit but they'll still have everything when you get to the counter.

1. Pecan Lodge (haven't been, know exactly where it is at and will be going soon).
2. Lockhart Smokehouse
3. Hard 8 BBQ

Here's a site that is chocked-full of TX BBQ info: TX Monthly BBQ

FTR, Houston area has Corkscrew in Spring (very good), Rudy's (very good wet brisket although a chain), Killens (Pearland), and Gatlins. Haven't been to the last two but hopefully soon.

Central BBQ in Memphis

Ribs are pretty good at Central, I love their wings and smoked half chicken with the vinegar or mustard sauce.
Going to the Memphis-UCONN bball game tonight with my father-in-law, we're going to the Rendezvous before for ribs. I love the mustard slaw they have

Their chicken and turkey is top notch.

I lived in Memphis for 4 years and I never went to Rendezvous. Someone brought me a sandwich and it was alright. I was spoiled by Central being so close to campus. And getting discounts

I totally agree, I have not been in a long time but still remember them being the best. The brother-in-law sandwich was good too if I remember...

no doubt- Pecan Lodge is the best brisket ive ever had, and ive had all the greats- City Market, Blacks, Stanleys, Salt Lick, Franklin

for my dallas bbq rankings, id go

Pecan Lodge
Lockhart
Slow Bone
Hard 8
Coopers(also has one in Llano so not sure if it counts)

also they have a bunch around DFW but the original Sonny Bryans with the wooden chairs is still legit.

I can vouch for this since I was living in tyler for a few months.

Stanley's in tyler has perhaps the best ribs I ever had.
