I just went back and skimmed through yesterday's thread.

I read it too. What drew me to the FBD threads a few years back was the in depth craft brew discussion and seeing all the different beers people were consuming. I enjoyed it. Now it's all about meeting up with (insert poster here) and showing off. Maybe cause I don't know a lot of the Krewe irl, but that never appealed to me. Wish we had more beer discussion. Miss the days of the 20+ page threads.

LL, my sister lives in SA. She is not a Maven and is a fan of nasty sweet drinks, but her husband knows good beer. If you want to meet up with them for a beer, let me know.

The IM stuff is going to happen, but let's try and keep it civil.

I thought yesterday's was civil till the end.... I know RU and I brought brought some drama from the Cigar City (and apparently IRL) drama into it at during the last couple pages.

I never had an issue with anyone and almost all of my experiences meeting people have been pleasant which is why I enjoy meeting new people.

I get the feeling that plenty of the thread is people showing off. Whether its them just drinking at home or meeting other posters and all of them posting from a bar of the beers they are drinking. It comes off very look at me/us

I'll let you know, Kim. I should be booking my flights this week, so I'll know how much free time I can have. Because it's a film festival, I'll be there somewhat late on the nights I work, but I am trying to snag myself a couple days of free time.

All good Kim, which is why I shoot you an e-mail when I get new things (well new to me) to see if you would be interested. I am appreciative of you hosting us, so why not share the wealth

I wouldn't worry about people and drama. I should hope people know this isn't the OT and no one cares about it. I have liked everyone affiliated with this group too.

All I know is that everyone I have met through this thread has been great people. Tonight was a great example of that...regardless, I started lurking in this thread when I was still at LSU. Started participating soon after, only a year or two ago, and I have noticed a big change in the whole logistics of this thread. I have nothing but great things to say about those I have met. Let's keep it real and what this whole thing is about. I have learned a lot about beer because of this thread. And I will raise a toast to those who have made this what it is

P. S. I really fricked up my knee tonight

I haven't been around much in 2015. Been drinking more wine. I'll change that since obviously it's affected this thread.

LL, when you in SA? Going March 5th through the weekend for my wife's cousin's wedding. We can day drink Friday and post pics of the beers and how much fun IRL stuff is.

Man that would be the greatest but I won't be heading there until the following Wednesday. Trying to make it back to BR for St Pats parade too, but that might not be possible.

For me this thread has always been about the beer and the people. Look at tonight's thread and the guys at the box. Drinking beers that have been discussed over and over and over again here. It's not so much about those beers but more about the people having those beers at The Box. I enjoy seeing that while I sit here and take sips of my brew. It's like a virtual beer bar happy hour. Everyone here is guilty of the "look at me" stuff. It makes the thread fun and entertaining IMO. If it's not someone posting a beer from the beach on a Tuesday than it's someone posting a pic of a beer and a screenshot of their 13 mile run. Etc etc. Was the same way in the "20 plus page days". Only diffrence now are the beers are getting stale and the IRL relationships are getting stronger. I remember when posting a pic of Jai Alai was special, now it's just "meh". Abrasive will be that way next year In the end the beer is the common denominator to all of this madness.
