Did we expect him to be a contributor this season?

Wouldn't mind seeing him or Odo get some PT. Malone is an And One machine......for the opponent.

He should get some minutes, but you don't need to trash Malone to get him on the court. We can always steal some of the near 40 minutes the starters play every game. Unfortunately our coach may be the worst in D-1 as far as playing any bench players.

ETA: He should probably transfer. Even if M&M go pro next year will look a lot like this year with Simmons and Victor down low and the same guard rotation.

Hopefully CJJ sees that Bridgewater stepped up last night and gets him some more PT

Apparently he is out of shape.

He should still be getting a few minutes a game regardless. The guy is 7 feet tall. There is no way he is so out of shape that he couldn't stand in the lane with his arms up and cloud people's vision for 5-7 minutes a game. Mickey and Martin could use a breather. He can't be any worse than Darcy.

Malone should play negative minutes for us. He's not ready at all to play at this level.

ER is just not in great shape. If you watched him at the beginning of the season, he could barely get from one end to the other. He lost a great deal of weight and it seems he still needs time adjusting to that.

I think people get so enamored with the big-time FR and forget that not many FR can come in and play college basketball. Give him time. Unfortunately, LSU is hurt by Malone not being as physically ready to help.

Our worst play of the year was when Jones would sub Bridgewater in for Mickey, leaving him and Martin as the only two "basket protectors". I fear he will return to that.

Didn't Robinson start the first game of the season? At least he started the first game I saw on TV.

So clearly JJ saw something positive in Robinson during pre-season. Surprising that Robinson went from that to now never even sniffing the court.

Another genius. Amazing how we came back from 8 down to within a point with him at the 5 spot then, no?

The guy can barely catch the ball.

We came back despite Malone being in, not because of him. I think OP makes a good point, Johnny could at least give Robinson a look in SEC play. I was always a fan of the energy Odo brings when he is on the floor. It's a shame to see a senior who could contribute to the team ride the pine game in and game out.

All Malone does is weak foul. I don't have problems with him fouling as a bench player, but would much rather see him be the most aggressive player on the team while he's out there. If I'm Jones, I'm not happy if I see him foul and the ball even has a chance at a 3 point play.

What did you see Malone do while he was in? He dropped a ball that was passed right to him, committed weak fouls that still allowed the basket, and couldn't rebound. He's a detriment, not an asset.

BB played a good game. Too bad we got almost nothing from the usually very good Mickey.
