steak prices haven't increased at the same rate ($6.99 or $7.99 sale price for rib eyes),

where are you getting these fine steaks?

Went to Popeyes sunday. $6 for a 2 piece with fries. That chicken must have been absent when they were giving out the chicken feed. Scrawny lil thing

I went to Roly poly last week for lunch and got a warmed turkey 12" wrap with chips and a tea.

$10.87
Plus a tip.

13 bucks for lunch at Roly poly?
I won't be going back... And I have a good exp account.
Still it's too high for lunch and what you're getting.

I like to get their daily special. $3.95 for small and $6.50 for large. I can't finish the large.

I don't get chips or a drink there, generally.

I couldn't tell you the last time I've been there though.

You tipped $2.13 at a fast-food type place?

I walked into the store this morning and saw a promotional display just inside the doorway that advertised packages of pork chops, "Buy 1, get 2 FREE!". They still looked pretty fresh, so I looked at the price, and it was $8.99/lb. I want back into the meat section and saw the same thing for $2.99 lb. What

Sadly, that's what most BOGO are now. Just jack the price up and hope people are stupid enough to just see the BOGO instead of actually looking at the price compared to others

Potato Chips $4.69 for Lays family size bag. I don't eat them anymore. Of course, Wal-Mart sells them for 3 something but still.

Restaurants highest profits come from selling ice tea, soda. and cocktails. Next in line is the large salads that are eaten as meals.

yea chips have gotten expensive. i dont buy chips that often but have noticed the prices are high. i try to find cheap tortilla chips to dip in salsa.

and yea those places really bend you over with drinks. especially soft drinks. friend of mine told me that places like mcdonalds spend more money on the cup, lid, and straw than the actual drink inside.

Cracklin fat. Ridiculous. Hell I might just start buying pork bellys.

$50.00 bucks for a case of fat that I have to cut and then a $20 bottle of propane to cook and of course the beer too.

Which is funny about salads.

If you eat a pizza buffet salad is included for the grand total of 6-7$.
Ate at johhnys other day and ordered a pizZa, wife wanted a salad it was almost 5 bucks.

Basically free with a buffet.
5$ with a pizza.

Yeah I think an actual coke or soft drink costs like $0.05 or something per 16 or 20 ounces.

It's like if you get a cup of ice water at a place and sometimes they charge you $0.35 simply because the cup and the lid. The actual drink is hardly any cost

Do you think restaurants/grocers are just jacking up prices because? They are in the business of making money, obviously. Their prices reflect the market.

For instance, the price of chicken went up $.10 at the start of the new year. For a place like Popeyes who is selling ~1 million pieces of chicken a year, they have to raise prices somewhat or risk operating at like ~40% food cost. You are talking raising prices $.10 or $.20 on combo meals or drinks just to get your food cost back to operating what it was in 2014 around, closer to 30-35% ... you are forced to raise prices while not even making more money. That's the nature of the economy.

I will cry when these bad boys go up

The weird thing about them is they determine the price. They're $2.00 everywhere. WalMart, Winn Dixie, and even the local gas stations.

I get it. Food prices have increased. But, when was there a time when they didn't increase? You all act like this is a new phenomenon. Food has gone up for decades now.
