I have 90qt igloo that has a radio built in. All of the electrical is sealed off so you can still put beer in it. And it has a set of all terrain wheels you can attach to it. This sets up perfect for the beach goers. It aint cheap but the OP was looking on the high end.

I also have a Yeti 50 that I love. Both were given to me as gifts. As much as I love them I cannot justify buying an ice chest thats more than $100

maybe another one in case you need two for big loads, but for everyday use, there is none better... no matter what the Yetifgts on here say

that thing would make for a super pool platform in case you need something to stand on to do box jumps or raised pushups or diving board by the pool. It's like 9 stones in one ice chest.

For the beach itself, definitely go as light- last thing you want to be doing is dragging a loaded down cooler weighing over 100lbs over sand.

Yeti 20qt would get the job done if you're a Yeti fanatic. Personally, I like the shoulder strap of the K2 20qt. The fact that it costs half as much as the Yeti is icing on the cake. Ice retention is about even.

A soft side cooler would work as well and keep the drinks cold all day, but I'd give the edge to the hard coolers for keeping ice longer. Look at the aforementioned Polar Bear coolers or the AO Coolers. (depending on where you are located, you may find one brand more readily available than the other- they're nearly identical though) They have that useful shoulder strap as well.

But if you just need a cooler for in the room, honestly the Coleman 5 or7 day cooler will work just fine; you could use the money saved on the Yeti to rent a couple jetski's for an hour.

Disclaimer: I do (or have) own(ed) Yeti, Pelican, Brute, K2, Igloo, AO and Coleman. . . most of the above observations have been direct comparisons between my Yeti 20qt/K2 20qt/AO36.
If you were to ask me to choose which cooler was the "best", I would say the Pelican- build quality is real nice, but it's heavy. Yeti is extremely overpriced for what they do. K2's have been solid- I currently have a 20, 50 and 70. quality build and good ice retention. Brute was nice, but the plastic scuffed easily. AO is my fish cooler, and it has performed flawlessly in the summer heat for the 3 years I have owned it. Coleman is cheaper and lighter than the others. In my experience, it won't keep the ice as long as the heavily insulated ones, but it will easily keep the ice for the day for what you are wanting. And of course, as mentioned in the previous posts, none of those coolers will keep ice for days if you are constantly opening them to get drinks.

i don't speak Kennar, brah.. so i have no idea what all of that means

i think a stone is 14 pounds, so 9 stones would equal 126#

the Pelican Progear 80qt with wheels weighs a shade under 50# i think

If you are going to be in and out of it, which you will...do not get one of the expensive ones. When you let in all that hot air, it actually does a much worse job keeping ice.

Get you a soft side, fill it up and tote it, drink contents. repeat.

It really does not matter.

You could get a Igloo MaxCold or Coleman Extreme for a fraction of the price of the Yeti. If you want to go guts then buy what you want and get the Yeti.

For the beach house get a Coleman 5 day and a polar bear. I have a yeti too but it's for the boat (bought it for its durability)
