My boy will be here in a couple weeks and I'm just tryin to make sure I have what I need. Do yall have any toys you would recommend? Some that they have loved and some that they hate or destroy.

empty milk jugs with the caps removed. a new one of those every few days will save your furniture and your shoes.

Rubber Kong toys. 11 week old GSD here.

Tennis balls. Lots of tennis balls. Those and chew toys. Keep him chewing on toys and not your shite.

We spend a shitload on toys, and our corgi destroys them in the first two or three days every time

Buy some rope, thick rope, cut it up and make little sections with knots. It's a helluva lot cheaper than the $12 rope toys at Pet Smart. Just order pure cotton rope, none of that nylon crap that could be really bad if your dog ingests it.
That and any kind of nylabone/kong toys.

Kong. Fill with peanut butter. Puppies stay occupied for a long time.
When they start growing, tug rope to build strength for healthy development.

When our GSD was a puppy, Kong Extreme was the only thing that held up. We have the original Kong, the bone, and the ball.

That and a kong are the only things that lasted a decent amount with my puppy (Doberman/ Lab mix). He tore up almost everything else within a day. Ropes, Kevlar toys, multiple brands that made toys that had money back guarantees if your dog tore them up, all got destroyed. But that and a long lasted a couple months.

Kong toys seem to work for other people but not me. My young lab at the time idk ( 12-15 weeks ). DESTROYED a kong toy the very first afternoon I gave it to him. First 30 min all that was left was solid black rubber part. Then it took him 1-2 hrs do destroy the solid rubber. After that I stopped wasting money on toys. Give them cheap stuff like milk jugs, water bottles, rope, ext. I get them bones every now and then but that's it.

Completely forgot about this thread. Yeah I've heard mixed things about the kongs. Seems like it just depends on the dog whether or not it's a suitable toy or not. Thanks

When mine was a puppy he loved dry wall. That was probably his favorite toy.

Deer antlers. Last 4-5 weeks and can't be destroyed plus good for their teeth

At what age are deer antlers appropriate?

A lot depends on size and breed, but this was one of the very few things our young feist mix didn't destroy in minutes.
Those fake sticks are pretty good too, but pricey.
