Wanted to check and see where the best spot is for the game next season. I went the last time we played in Columbia as an underage student. The Friday night bar scene was legit at Five Points. Does anyone know if this location is still good in your late 20's? If so, whats a good hotel in relation to Five Points/Downtown and Williams Brice?

Stay in Greenville. You'll have to drive but overall, I think you'll have an exponentially better experience.

I don't think 5 points is where late 20s and 30s crowd goes. Maybe the vista area now?

These bars are within walking distance of a few hotels

You may be able to stay at The Whitney Hotel for $15.00 per night.

2 hours isn't far. At all. I'd put in 10 hours of driving on home games this past season. Several times, I'd wake up at 4 AM and return at 10-12. I don't have much sympathy for a 2 hour drive.

From what I understand, by him staying in Greenville, he'd have better restaurants, a better nightlife, and would overall have much more to do than in Columbia. That's easily makes Greenville worth it.

1) He's not vacationing. If he is only staying for 1-2 days than the 2 hour drive is not worth it.
2) Especially on a gameday, the crowd will be in Columbia. I guess he could go to Greenville and enjoy a dead crowd (unless Clemson is having a big game that weekend
3) Late 20s is definitely the Vista. 5 points is still the place for the students but more and more of them are coming to the Vista as well.

In fact, just gave you access to the SC board. Post the question in there. There will be plenty of people there to help and give good, and more specific advice.
