No matter how you want to spin it, Patterson was our second choice at QB in this class. Franks was already committed by the time he got his offer from LSU. I guess the family didn't like that.

Maybe he's just not into LSU. He's not from here, and see's Ole Miss as a place to compete for a starting spot in an offense that fits his skill set? He's a good player, but we already have a solid QB on board. We don't get both of them.

Actually, I think family did play a big part, not only his brother, but his dad as well! I spoke to his dad back in October at a Calvary game and he wasn't that big on LSU. In fact, that weekend, he, Shea, and Jerry Tillery were headed to Notre Dame for a visit.

LSU offered Franks first.This upset the pattersons.Shea is now going to a school with a coach who has no record of developing a qb. But he also knows it's his best shot to play early.

Agree but we actually have talented kids on campus or coming. OM has none of that. Hell they are actually gonna start Chad Kelly at QB and are happy about it. Let that sink in and the reasons Shea went to OM should be obvious. Shea isn't the talent Harris is. Isn't the talent Franks is. Both could conceivably beat him. Doesn't mean they would but the chance is good. At OM he has no one that can beat him except Kelly but he's as likely to get kicked out as beat Shea.(I actually think Kelly is a very talented kid;comparable to Shea even but he's a knucklehead)

Yes he was set to play at LSU and then got butthurt by fans, even though nearly every thread was praising him until he was a zero percent chance of coming here..

I doubt that. I suspect its all about coaching and opportunity. Name a big time SEC University whose fans don't act about the same.
