Let's not forget DL3 led the team to a big lead before the Europeans had that major comeback in singles. Captains can't do much in singles, its up to the players. I think its a good choice because the Americans want to make it up to DL3

Freddie would've brought a lot of excitement to the team and has shown he can do it in the President's Cup. Bringing Love back so soon after the 2012 disaster seems like an odd move.

Azinger and Couples both better have turned it down.

He's not a PGA guy, so the big wigs were probably hesitant to go with him even though he was the obvious choice, assuming he didn't turn it down.

Was this the task force's recommend or just the PGA's decision? This is dumb. The choice was Freddy. Period. With this pick, their gonna have succession problems... Stricker, Furyk, Phil etc... Will all be due "turns" as capt. The right play was Freddie, with stricks as co capt.

I had heard that before, guess I was just hoping the team's struggles might have been enough for them to put their issues aside and give him a shot.
I hope DL3 makes him his vice captain at least.

We've lost 6 out of the last 7 Cups. Unless the 12 US players play a hell of a lot better, it doesn't make any difference who the captain is.
