Pretty interesting read recapping the Gillispie shite show in Lexington. Just a hilarious time in their history with a fricking crazy dude.

It's first hand accounts and stories from media members and some players and shite. I love reading that stuff.

More importantly, enjoy the embedded video from a TD star. I was shocked and excited to see him in there. Did not see it coming. Naturally, with all this info I'm giving, y'all will know who it is. But read, watch, and enjoy. He's like 2/3 of the way down the article talking about cal getting hired. He says something hilarious.

Oh for Christ's sake just say who it is so I don't have to click on unwanted links.

ETA: I'm sure it's Kige, I just don't want to click on anything involving him.

I saw him at dinner at a restaurant later that night. He again came up to my table and stood there and said, "Did you know I've been married twice. Both my wives are dead." I said, "Coach, I thought you were divorced just once." He said, "No, both my wives are dead. Do you want to know how they died?" I said sure. He said, "The first one died from eating poisonous mushrooms. And the second one died from a blow to the back of the head when she wouldn't eat the poisonous mushrooms."

Alan Cutler having to chase him down through the basketball facility still is one of the funniest things I have ever seen

Always wondered if he was a h-mo and it made him feel awkward at UK about it, but he obviously just has some screws loose (plus alcohol problems).

I think that was just rumor. He fricked a bunch of coeds though.

But this is the kind of shite I'm talking about:

quote:

They get to SEC tournament (in 2009) ... win the first game but don't play well. After the game is over, the team gets on the bus. One player, Darius Miller, had turned his ankle and Billy thought he was being a wimp and was gonna make him walk to hotel. The rest of players said well, if he is walking we are walking. They almost had a team mutiny right there.

Add that to the way he treated Jodie Meeks who played that whole season with a sports hernia and could barely walk around campus, frick him with a rusty coat hanger.

Parrish: So I was working on something. I was at home and knew he was heading to his post-game press conference. I texted him and said I was working on a column and asked him to call me on his drive home. He texted back and said he'd call me later. I thought he'd call me after meeting with the media around 10:30 p.m. I feel asleep around 12:30 a.m. Then my phone rings at 3:45 a.m. Central, meaning it was 4:45 a.m. in Lexington. It was a calm message, "GP, this is Billy, just calling you on my way home like I told you I would." He was on his way home at 4:45 a.m. I don't know what he was doing but we could probably guess. It didn't occur to him that calling at 4:45 in the morning was a bit weird. I thought it was funny that a guy with a reputation for staying out late thought it was completely normal to call at 4:45 a.m.

Him running from the reporter was awesome...he had a phone up to his ear claiming to be on the phone but never said a word to the person on the other end.

My boy BCG was all about piano bar at the Tap on Wednesdays in CS. Slayed tail like a college kid

That is probably the best part about Billy Clyde. A&M loves him, Kentucky hates him. So weird.

Also since no one else cares, kige saying he wishes Kentucky would have hired Travis ford is the greatest shite ever.

We have a thread on our board right now asking "What if he never left" linking the same story. It was the perfect setup for him because A&M is and always will be a football school, so there was little pressure or microscope on his shenanigans.

He never could have pulled this shite as the football coach but with bball we were just happy we were finally winning and competitive on a year to year basis.

What's weird about it? He abused players at UK and was an alcoholic frick up.

He toed that line pretty hard at A&M as well. I mean he was for sure an alcoholic frick up, I don't think there was ever anything substantiated as far as abusing players but there are our fair share of former players that hate his guts I'm pretty sure.

There was no pressure to get to him because the bar was so low with us and once he succeeded we just kind of put up with the extra stuff because we finally had some consistent basketball success. He went from polar opposite situations as far as P5 basketball programs go

In all fairness, there were a number of fanbases that wanted him at the time.

It's weird that that same dude is beloved by another fan base and its players. Could you really not grasp that? Nothing about this is a jab at Kentucky.

Except I guess the kige shite is
