Everyone will be dusting off the clubs soon, if you aren't a year round player that is. He's a little range etiquette lesson to help out your fellow golfers and maintenance crew. Be mindful of your divot pattern on the range, as it can have an impact on both the healing of the range and other golfers' warmups. I have attached the following image as a reference for what you should be doing as to maximize tee space usage and promote a healthier teeing area. Hit them well, my friends

Any other etiquette reminders are welcome in this thread

I'm paying to hit balls at the range. Deal with with whatever divots i leave.

Again. Its a range.

You, sir, are no gentleman

And are obviously uncoordinated, as it takes very little skill to do this

There's no way that the linear and concentrated are the same amount of shots

They must have purposely greatly exaggerated the divots if so

I think I've seen this picture before. Those are Zach Johnson's divots in the middle right?

And when fixing a ball mark on the green, don't pry up

That's not the proper way to do it

I try to do the linear as best I can. If you put the ball right on the edge of the back of the divot, you take very little grass if you don't hit it fat. Obviously there's also some variation if you hit at different targets

No clue. I hit a ton of lob wedges up to 5 irons on 2 lines Saturday. Wasn't as clean as those lines, but better than the alternatives.

Good point about ball marks Cro. Most people do more harm than good

I'm a hacker too, but its not hard to do linear.

I'll usually move a foot or 2 back from there when I start hitting woods

This is a load of crap unless your range session is a maximum of 10 golf balls. BTW, every course I go to moves the range tee box every 1-2 weeks depending on usage.

Well the scatteted and concentrated baw hit about fiddy times. Linear hit about 14.

I will count shots and do linear next time and let you know. Like I said, you'd be surprised. If you out the ball right on the edge of the back of the divot, you hardly take any new grass with each shot if your swing bottoms out in front of the ball like it should
