The Amar'e Stoudemire era is over in New York. The Knicks and Amar'e reached a buyout agreement tonight, sources tell the NY Daily News.

As ESPN reported last week, Mavericks are frontrunners to sign Amar'e Stoudemire once he clears waivers. Clippers and Suns also interested

I think he'd be a terrible fit in Dallas. They need defense from a backup big.

Phoenix seems like an odd spot considering they're likely moving Dragic.

The Clippers have the biggest need for him, but they need a defensive big, too.

Regardless, it's not like he's been particularly healthy this year. He'll likely miss time moving forward.

I dunno. Their defense has been top 10 since Rondo came on board. It's not like Brandan Wright was bringing a ton of defense in this role. They just need a competent backup big. If Amare is willing to be a roll/dive man and rebound for 15-20MPG, he will help.

The question I would have is whether he and Chandler get along.

it sucks that every team in the West has steadily upgraded over the course of the year

Well we've went from babbitt/salmons/miller to dante/Qpon at SF.

And got rid of AR which is addition by subtraction if you think about it.

oh don't get me wrong, those transactions have been HUGE for us and are largely underrated, even by our own fanbase at times.

But damn, we've seen some solid players enter the western conference this year, and now it looks like one more is on the way
