VRENTAS: After his fourth title, where do you think Tom Brady stands among quarterbacks to ever have played the game?

NAMATH: No one’s ever been better. No one’s ever been better than Tom Brady, I don’t believe. And I go back to watching the guys earlier in some of the darker days, in the ’50s. One of my first heroes was Otto Graham. Come on, 10 straight title games in Cleveland. He was just spectacular. Bobby Layne was a unique quarterback, really terrific. Getting into the modern era, Peyton Manning has had his wonderful performances. Don’t tell me anybody is better than Aaron Rodgers, either. Better than, better than, better than. The best, the best, the best. To each his own. I have a hard time calling anybody in any sport “the best” because of the changes in the game, certainly, and because of the greats that were ahead of them. But I will say, no one has ever played the game better than Tom Brady. You start looking at numbers, and sometimes statistics tell a story, and sometimes they don’t tell the whole story. It’s such a team game. But Tom has answered the bell. He has answered every challenge. He’s great. He’s great. No one has ever done it better.

I disagree with him but Namath's opinion carried a lot of weight with me. He played against Johnny Unitas and has seen pretty much all of the all-time great QBs over the last 50 years. If Namath says nobody has played the game better, it means a lot.

To be fair Namath was a pretty good QB. The way his gameplan worked against the Colts in SB3 was a thing of beauty and he led the Jets to the most important win in NFL history. So yes if he says Brady is the best ever??? Well...........

There was a time back in the 90s when the running QB was the big thing. I remember Joe saying "Not gonna happen. When you're going against a great defense in playoffs you have several 3rd and longs. The defense knows you won't run. You know you won't run. You have to go back into the pocket and deliver a 20 yard pass under pressure."

I'd say Joe is still correct.

He's pretty good at football.

Should be 6-0 in super bowls. I enjoy watching him play.

I agree with him.

Doesnt mean I think k Brady is the best QB ever but his resume and play overall is better than anyone's. Hes put up bigger numbers and won more with less than anyone. The argument of the best ever can go so many different directions and 4-6 guys can legitimately be argued as the best ever but no one can argue a resume better than Bradys. His stats, overall wins and Super Bowl wins and appearances put together the best resume if all time. Stack his resume against anyone's and his is better. So if the best ever is being argued by resume, Brady wins. And he isn't done yet. This coming from a Peyton guy.

He "should" have lost this very last one.. he threw 2 awful INTs that nearly did them in.. and Seattle just needs to run the ball on the 1.

I don't think you are giving Bobby Wagner enough credit on that second interception.

That first one was terrible, but the second one was more a product of the gameplan and Wagner making a fantastic play.

An INT in the 1st quarter and at the very beginning of the 3rd doesn't do any team in now a days. His 1st INT was horrible. I give you that. But those INTs didn't come close to doing them in.

And he also was 37/50 for 328yards and 4 TDs against the "Legion of Boom"... And when the game was on the line, Brady was 13/15 for 116yards and 2 TDs on their final 2 drives of the game when they were down by 10points.

And yea the Seahawks should have ran the ball, no doubt. But Wilson still threw the ball and Malcolm Butler made a great play. The play call deserves to be criticized, but I also think that people are so focused on the call that Wilson gets a pass almsot. He still threw the ball. And when you are throwing a slant in a crowded area, you put the ball low and away so that the only person with a legit chance of catching it is the WR. You know the CB is in man to man and he's coming from up top. You don't throw that ball high, because that's the only place where the DB has a chance to make a play. But that's where Wilson put it and he knows that an incomplete doesn't hurt you right there. Literally the only thing that could hurt them right there was an INT, which is what happened. And the CB made a great play.

Joe Namath isn't qualified to make that statement. He is likely the worst QB in the hall of fame and worse than a lot of QB's that will never make it there.

One could argue that the first INT and subsequent broken arm handed the game to the Pats on a silver platter
