Am I the only person on the planet who watches Sunday afternoon bowling?

Occasionally, I'll tune in. But I also loved darts on FSN

Although this may no longer be true, bowling traditionally got higher total viewership numbers than the sport that dare not speak its name.

However, g*lf gets a higher-income demo, the kind that will buy luxury cars, insurance, financial services etc... So sponsors keep it on the air despite the lower overall numbers

He is not lying, the first ever million dollar contract in sports was signed by a bowler. A rookie on the pro tour used to make more then a NFL veteran. Damn know I wanna watch Kingpin.

Id still like to see a link for the TV ratings.

Why has the sport fallen so much?

I remember reading it when I was a kid in TV Guide and places like that... Bowling got numbers, but not the target demo

If you're that curious you can do your own research

Wow. That's crazy.

I had ESPN on but wasn't really watching it until I realized a bowler (I think his name is Rash) was a few frames from a 300. I've never seen a 300; it was actually pretty exciting and a bit nerve-racking. He ended up getting it so it was definitely worth the watch.
