How many of you are beating your chest about how horrible CJJ is?

We'll be in the round of 32 at the least.

Not to mention can't wait till Simmons and Blakeney get here, and we have an fricking platoon of a bench next year. "CJJ isn't a good coach, Simmons and Co make his Job easy!!!!

Go Tigers. It's a fun season to keep riding on

If CJJ gets this team to the sweet 16, I think you can probably rank him above les Miles on the LSU athletic coaches rankings.

Nah, CLM accomplished more in his first three years than CJJ ever did and probably ever will

CLM was given far better talent and more to work with than CJJ hands down. What CJJ is doing is incredible if he continues to build upon what he has started. Skies the limit if his recruiting continues at such a high level.

don't lose the Auburns and Missouris of the SEC than I'll consider him a good coach.

LSU has played very inconstant under JJ and it hasn't been this year only. We go out and almost beat UK and crush TN but we go out and lay an egg against Auburn and Missouri. That comes down to coaching.

CJJ recruits really well, he is good about getting his team to play well against great competition. But at times he seems clueless how to manage a game.

team goes on 8-0 run when we are up big, instead of calling a time out to try to kill the run, he lets it continue and they come back and get ahead of us.

huge possession in a game, calls timeout with 5 seconds left on the shot clock, when he could have called it much earlier. Than he calls a crappy set play out of the time out that we don't even get a shot.

Half court offense is about as creative as Miles playbook.

CJJ will bring in talent but he needs to learn how to coach the Xs and Os a little better.

I agree. Fan base is as schizophrenic as the team. If you've watched this team play all year I don't how you can trust them enough to make any sort of prediction.

Team just plays better with the Gray experiment being over.

Yet no one blames Calipari when he does the EXACT same thing and lets lsu go on a 16-0 run. He ends of being a mastermind and brilliant

Very good win and coaching staff deserves credit for not letting this team get affected by emotional hangover.

Need to see them actually get in the NCAA tournament before more credit is given. Need to keep stringing wins together to make that happen. No win can be taken for granted after the eggs they've laid this season. LSU can win or lose any game left on the regular-season schedule. Depends on whether they show up.

This board claims we are the most talented team every year. Not really directed at you, but I love how this board wants it both ways to tear down their own coach.

why do you kids keep starting these threads?

It's all about matchups. LSU gets the right matchup (IF THEY MAKE THE TRNY) then they could win a game or two, if not, then they won't.

I'm by no means a negatiger, but give me a break, if you haven't figured out yet that this team is extremely inconsistent and can lose to anyone, then I can't help you.

Here's a question: Has the NCAA tourney become so popular that people don't enjoy regular season games anymore except for fodder for how they impact a team's likelihood of making the tournament? Because there's no less than 5 threads on the front page about whether we will or will not make it and how far we will go if we do.

Not saying that's a bad thing. Heck it seems to be a brilliant marketing strategy for the NCAA. But it's become so big that it has kind of swallowed up the entire season.

huh?

Not solely blaming Gray, but he was in the game down the stretch against KY. He is the main reason LSU didn't get off a good shot in the last 3 minutes of that game. He jacked up a quick 30 footer, and then he drove right at a 7 footer.

yep and he won 11 games in each of his first 3 years, including 2 West titles, 1 SEC and 1 National Championship. Your point?

Yes it is. It is incredible that this team is the only team to lose to Missouri. It is incredible that this team can lose at home to Auburn. They played well against KY..no doubt, but let's talk about quality wins this year? WV? Not looking near as good anymore as they might be out of the top 25. Ole Miss? Ga? You want to say that this team has potential? Ok, no problem. You want to say he has done an incredible job? Uh, no, he hasn't.

Jaylen Patterson is forcing me to completely change my thoughts about his ability to lead this team. I doubt he'll ever be a scorer but he has point guard instincts that you can't teach.

No one is perfect. I haven't heard it much this year, but isn't Calipari a horrible in game coach as well?
Johnny is what we have, and I just can't complain. Take a step back and tell me which direction our program is going.

Hell, look from 1995 to now and I bet you don't see a single three year stretch with the consistency that Johnny has achieved...and he did it with lesser talent. We literally had a former band member contributing significant minutes last season.

Thank you Johnny Jones.
