My mom spent several days in the hospital from it. This strain is no joke.

My wife is a 5 grade teacher. She got it, and I had it before the next day. Sucked

SO did. My son and I didn't catch it. He had the shot and I took Tamiflu as a preventative.

My wife was spared, but me and my three year old son got it.

We'd all gotten vaccinated and I was told by my doctor that it can lessen the severity. If that is truly the case, this flu strain was a sledge hammer.

I was in bed for five days with fever and chills and that was with Tamiflu.

Had at the same time as my kids. Hit me hard the day they started to feel better and want to eat more. I couldn't move off the floor. Was awful. Took everything I had to get up and get them some cereal. Can't wait for this year. My friend has quads, and they all got it at the same time. Had the flu shot, but didn't help prevent this strain.

I had the flu & strep at the same time. Son & husband avoided both. Developed bronchitis after the first week. Took me 4 weeks to return to routine and still recovering.

didn't get the shot. Started feeling like shite today and went to urgent care. Symptoms were extremely flu like and the doctor went ahead and gave me tamiflu.

The fact that I'm looking at my phone tonight means it must be working because the time I had it a few years ago I wanted to die. This isn't quite that bad.

My dad got horribly sick. My mom said he wouldn't even play on his iPad. That's when you know it's bad.

You can take Tamiflu prophylactic--on pill a day for 10 days.

Nope....and my wife is a first grade teacher. Vegetarian diet, Apple cider vinegar and beer keeps the doctor away.

Monday night before Christmas, my daughters had a friend sleep over. Their friend wakes with the flu.

Jump to Christmas morning, Santa left a little extra, my oldest daughter comes down with it. I take her to urgent care Christmas morning. Just think if you just opened a bunch of toys for Christmas but spent the rest of the morning at DR office.

Next morning, my other daughter comes down with it. We spent all weekend quarantined to the house, had to cancel all dinners, gift exchanges with rest of the family.

Neither my wife nor I came down with it.

Some people have an adverse reaction that temporarily makes them psychotic. It happened to someone I know. I'll take my chances with the flu.

It's not quite done, but nobody got it - all but Mrs. Midnight are military or healthcare workers, so all but her got the vaccine. I know it wasn't the most accurate vaccine, but we all dodged it nonetheless.
