Cheap 55gr wolf gold and 75gr match is all I need. No time for that M855. Although, I have a bit of it.

Ace, are you the poster that's in, or around Sicily Island?

Not really.

(Assuming that more than 60 miles and "I don't ever recall being in or going through SI" is good enough to exclude "in" or "around" )

when I first got an AR I bought an ammo box of the 62grn green tips...I found them less appealing for target shooting than the regular 55grn

not that I want to see anymore bans but I'm not sure what advantages the M855 brings to the table

Thanks for the heads up. I ordered 1000 rounds last night. Wish I would have ordered more, now. Looks like everyone is sold out now.

It doesnt. Xm193 is more accurate. However, banning Xm193 is only a short step away from an m855 ban. All it takes is some libtard atf order to ban all "military" ammo.

Ball cops still writing tickets from the Grant Parish line out to I-49?

The proposal at the link is to ban civilian sales of M855. M193 is a pure lead/copper FMJ round so the regulation they are trying to be cute with doesn't apply to it at all. Mod 0 SOST round has better barrier performance than M855 but it's solid copper and also not subject to the same AP ammo law. That's why gun-control advocates have been crying for a purely "performance" based definition of armor piercing rifle ammo knowing that almost all full-power hunting rifle cartridges can defeat NIJ Level III and therefore be classified as "armor piercing".

Wow, hope you had a separate insurance policy for it.

No, I did not have insurance for them, I bought everyone of those firearms from private sellers to make my secret stash in case the SHTF, I had them in a secret place in my backyard and one day coming after work, I discover that all of them were gone

I was sad for several weeks after that.

Let's not exaggerate - if anything the Pollock cops came too close Rapides to write tickets. Ball does border Grant Parish to the north.

And Ball isn't close to I-49. They don't write very many tickets south of Paradise/Tioga Road.

I understand. My point is we all know where they are trying to go with this. A wee bit of steel in the m855 isn't what the broader issue is. Once the m855 is gone, don't think another round won't be next. They'll use the tumbling/destructive tendency of the .223/5.56, or any other excuse, to go after more rounds.

This is what's getting lost with people. This is just the start. It's not if you shoot m855 or not, it's that after they ban this, next will be all military calibers.
