Anyone here do the klokov press. It's basically a standing barbell behind the neck press with a wider grip or snatch grip.

If so what's your max in this lift and how much more weight you can lift in a normal overhead press.

I do behind the neck press and lat pulls. Not with that kind of weight though. Damn.

I follow charles poliquin very close and he and klokov have many videos and have done a few seminars together.

This board should really read more poliquin articles.

That man is inhuman. Hes cleaned and jerked 232 kgs at 105 kg. that's a 500 lb plus clean and jerk at about a 230-235 lb body weight.

Agreed.

I have never done ohp consistently so I did 165 for 2 and called it a day. Today was my first time trying the klokov press I did 115 for 3. Maybe would have done 125 for 3. And that's pounds not kilos.Something is wrong with my right shoulder. I think it's just beat up.

He also has a variation where he does that snatch grip press from the bottom of a full squat.

Lsucoonass

You should try behind the neck press with Elbows tucked in tight too. It will help balance out those shoulders.

Thanks for the advice. It just started hurting not long ago. I also tore my left pec and bicep.

I'd like to learn some Olympic weightlifting

275lbs...know a few guys that can do that sitting for a lot more than 3x. I've heard of guys doing single rep efforts at 405+.

You realize behind the neck standing is a lot harder especially with a snatch grip. I bet those military press guys can't clean and jerk 500 pounds either not like I can either.

also Olympic lifters really don't do more than reps of 3-5. Doing snatches for 10 reps consecutively would be silly imo
