This piece of shite crashes about 4 or 5 times a day. Battery is draining at the speed of light and it is so damn slow.

I'm willing to try anything to save it and bring it back to life.

Is rooting the answer? If so, tell/show me how.

yes.

first however, see if you can install CYAN on it (wont require root) and may bring tears to your eyes at how well it works.

dude if you were in nashville i'd do it for you.

its definitely a little 'ickier' than a straight nexus ROM install but its not *that* bad.

the advantages are HUGE. you only have to go through the process once to get the phone setup.

after that its just swapping your ROM de jour.

cyan is one-click install on nexus :\

Not listening to you was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. I'll never forgive myself.

if you carefully follow those steps (its only 11 steps) you should be able to get the custom recovery running.

all that means is you've 'slipped' a utility underneath your phone's OS that allows you to STOP it from booting and instead run a zip file you've downloaded to your phone's SD card (or internal storage) that completely changes your phone experience.

COMPLETELY.

like you wont even recognize the phone and wonder how it got so fast and so amazing.

its sounds scarier with all those terms they throw about than it actually is.

once you've done it once or twice..you totally get the hang of it. enough people have done it before you that the kinks are worked out..even if it takes 11 steps to get there.

good luck

i can help if you get stuck.

Thanks. I'm going to grab a few beers and try this when I get home. If it doesn't work, I'll make a youtube video of me setting it on fire.
