hardly ever pushes the ball up the court and down the other team's throat anymore? I don't know if it's the whole time he's started at PG or if it's just the last several games, but it's been noticeable to me at least. Anyone else notice this?

Yeah, but he still holds onto the ball really long just dribbling at the top of the key. Stagnates things a bit at times.

Sometimes slowing it up is okay, but he has to work on his timing

He takes his time like Brian Roberts.

As long as you're passing the ball, sure.

Our guards need to get the ball across half-court sooner, IMO

Tyreke just kind of takes his sweet arse time bringing the ball down, so most of our possessions don't even start until there are only 15 seconds remaining on the shot clock

I just look at it like he needs more time to read the defense. When he starts pushing and playing fast, he's not giving up the rock.

I wonder if he's thinking too much? Remember how I posted a quote from him complaining about how the playbook was too big now that he was playing PG? About a week after that after having a few of those 12 assist games, Jen Hale asked him if the playbook had gotten any easier and Tyreke said something to the effect of "LOL no, it's still a lot to learn."

well then it makes sense he has slowed it down some then

I really, really like PG tyreke now...Jrue getting hurt was a way for him to play differently and it's working IMO...I think when Jrue comes back, Reke should see a little less time with starters and a lot more running the 2's

That's definitely our best option. When Jrue, Reke, and gordon are on the floor together, Jrue usually defers to tyreke. I want to see Jrue look to attack more when he comes back.

Yeah, I'm hoping he grows from this too. Monty said something about him after a few of his 12 assist games like "Tyreke is learning that he can dominate a game without scoring 30 points."

You guys do realize Monty likes to play at the slowest pace possible. All of our PGs under him has taken forever to make a play it's just the way the team is coached.

Yeah, but against Utah there was a play where they essentially had a 4 on 3 break and Tyreke just walks it up and let the Jazz recover. It was also ridiculous that time was running out and they needed a quick score and Tyreke just walks it up. To be fair he did need to wait for Gordon to come off a few screens, but still, the deliberate pace just seemed completely inappropriate in several situations.

When we got to down 1 against Utah late he did that, missed, and it killed the momentum and changed the game.

You guys must not pay attention they do that all the time where they need a quick point but the take their time. I'm sure it's Monty I think he doesn't trust his players so he wants to guide them every step. It's probably what Rivers was talking about when he said he never played with this much freedom.

From what I hear, Monty runs the offense late 4th quarter. So much of the mistakes and head smashing moments down the stretch where we lose these ridiculous games can be pointed at him...

Let's not act like he has been given good, explosive PGs to work with. Greivis, Roberts, and Evans aren't exactly Russell Westbrook. In fact, they are probably 3 of the slowest PGs in the NBA.

He's had Holiday too. And the pace was basically the same.

Difference between being slow and playing with no tempo. You can tell your pg to get into sets quicker and not be playing Nellie Ball.

Monty likes to play slow. It's usually ugly, but it has been effective even with 3rd tier guys like Vasquez and Roberts.

That's my biggest problem

We play too slow for no reason

Jrue is very effective when the pace is up.
