When they have 8 or 9 players that are better or as good as your best 2 players. This was the first game that I have watched from start to finish that Kentucky has played, its hard to defend that talent all night long. I've had negeative stuff to say about CJJ and a few players, but they competed and played hard last night. Can't wait until 1st pitch Friday night!!

On paper maybe. From last night's game, I'd argue that our best 6 players were better than Kentucky's top 6 guys. We lost the game on lack of depth and fatigue late in the game. From a talent perspective from last night, I'd say the top 6 was a wash and might have favored LSU. UK's 7 through however many they played were significantly better than our subs and that was the difference.

We went on a 20 something to 2 run in the final ten minutes of the game. We just couldnt close it in those last 2 minutes when we were up 66-60 and you could just tell every missed shot was gonna come back to bite us.

LSU only has 2 players that could play for Kentucky.

We were flat the last 7 minutes, not just the last 2. I've watched all the games this year, not just last night's game. Fatigue issues due to lack of depth is consistently a serious issue for this team.

Jesus man......what a homer. Our guys played the best they've played all season. My question is why don't we come out to play like that every game? However, they have 2 guys maybe 3 that will get drafted higher than any LSU player. After Mickey and Martin none of our guys would see the court if they were on UK's squad.

On paper maybe. Last night our top 6 did just fine against the almighty Kentucky. We lost the game due to lack of depth and poor execution at the end, both have been trends this season.

I don't know what game you were watching when LSU went on a 20-2 run or whatever it was. Those guys didn't look intimidated or outclassed by superior talent to me.

bullshite! I guess this is this year's go to excuse , replacing last year's "midget guards" excuse.

I have no doubt that LSU's guys played their hearts out and were likely exhausted when the game ended. However, that loss is on LSU failing to execute at the end. TQ's turnover late was absolutely unnecessary and inexcusable. Martin refused to attack the basket in the final 9:00 minutes even though LSU had long been in the bonus. LSU took unnecessary threes late early in the shot clock. Jones called TOs in two situations with 6 or less seconds to shoot and on both occasions had the entry pass go to a guard at the timeline running away from the bucket. Inexplicable that you don't have something going towards the basket with that little time to shoot.

LSU had their opportunities and panicked.

What? The top six for UK will all be lottery picks in the NBA.

Ok, outside of M&M, who would replace WCS for Uk from LSU? Or the twins. Or Booker. Or Lyles. Or Dakari. You think Quarterman and/or Hornsby would start or play at UK?

I'm basing my statement solely on how the UK players played relative to how LSU played last night. I'm well aware that UK players are better overall and will have better pro careers. Six lottery picks should beat a 6-deep LSU squad by 20-30. Instead, they barely got out of town with a win. Kudos to our guys.

I think they'd play. Hornsby was as good or better than the twins last night. Q, not so much. Overall team performance was equal to UK imo for athleticism and execution for that majority of the game until the very end.

why can't the tigers get great big men? 6'8/6'10 vs 7'3/6'11 was the difference last night.

We'll just agree to disagree. There isn't one guard for UK that either would play over.

I agree. That length gave Mickey problems, but he played well, held his own. He can play.

Very good analysis. I may be wrong, but one thing that has stood out to me is the lack of offensive rebounding. Kentucky was better at it, and had LSU been a little better it might not have been close.
Tigers played great last night for the most part.
