All I hear is how awful it is.. The sex stops there is constant nagging and honey-do-list.. It seems staying single would be the better choice in the overall scheme of things

You gotta start with wife material bro. That being said, you yourself have to be husband material.

Every study ever suggests that married men, in spite of their constant bitching, are on the whole healthier, wealthier, and considerably happier than their single counterparts.

And I'm single. It gets old.

If you aren't going to have kids, it doesn't make sense unless the finances work out better IMO.

Well, the stats do show that marriage is on the decline, compared to olden times.

There's really no point. But now that the gays are doing it, everyone thinks it's trendy so it's the thing to do.

Give it a year and they'll discover white-water rafting and this whole marriage fad will die down.

Not planning on having kids and I love being married

DINKing is nice too, but that really isn't why it's so great

Marriage in today's society has become truly romanticized.

It is a life long endeavor b/w two people willing to undergo the ups and downs together.

We currently live in a society of instant gratification. At the first bump in the road people are looking to bail out. I could go on and on but you know rest.

Depends on your own personality and how lucky you are in choosing your partner. My experience is that people who run into issues tend to be people who are either fairly selfish personally, married someone who is, or simply did not understand that being married was not the same as being single but together.

Basically...until you know for sure that you fully understand your life is going to be different then there is no point in even going past that step. if you are, then you have to be lucky enough to find the right person and hope you're right about them.

I'm lucky...I've been married 19 years and am happier today than I ever have been in the relationship. For us it's never been work, but I know that's kind of rare.

People always say that marriage is what shows commitment. To me, if you are in a situation where you can walk away scot-free at any time and still stay together, now THAT is commitment.

I might have my complaints from time to time, but I would be lost without my wife.

Too many folks get married because they don't want to be alone versus wanting to be together.

On my first, it was like that....I swore off ever marrying again, found a girl I really didn't want to not be with... and it was a really good decision to remarry.
