Amazon fire / Kodi volume question?

Is there any way to normalize the audio in either or both of these?

Do you have the audio out on the fire tv set to one of the three Dolby digital options? I ended up setting mine to "Dolby digital plus off" because I was having to crank up the volume to hear dialogue, then when some action or explosions came along, it was way too loud. I find making the output stereo evens out the sound.

There are also options once a show starts to adjust volume in the menu in the bottom right of the screen.
